The One To Save You || Luke Hemmings

Chapter 9:

Rose's P.O.V. -

When I woke up, I wasn't laying on Luke on the couch anymore, which kind of upset me. Instead, I was laying comfortably in my bed.

When I went to get out of bed, I heard a voice speak up softly.

"No Rosie, stay. Please."

I turned around and saw that Luke was laying on the other side of the bed.

His morning voice sounded so raspy; it was hot.

I smiled at him and climbed back into bed, not wanting to make him upset.

When I got back under the covers, Luke wrapped his arms around me and held me tight.

I looked at him and admired his features. He was still asleep, so he couldn't tell I was staring.

It was only then that I noticed that he was only wearing sweatpants. I looked at him up and down, and I realized how truly beautiful he was.

"I can feel you staring at me." he said, still keeping his eyes closed.

I giggled a bit before successfully climbing out of bed. Luke followed after me, and he collected his things from my room.

"Do you wanna hang out with me and the boys today?" he asked me.

"Sure! When should I come over?"

"We'll pick you up at around 2:00. We're just gonna chill at Ashton's apartment. Sound good?"

"Yup!"

Then he left.

I looked over at the clock and saw that it was 11:30 already. That gave me 2 and a half hours to get ready. I guess I could manage that.

I applied the normal amount of makeup and straightened my hair. Then I tied it up in a ponytail.

I threw on my Nirvana t-shirt and a pair of jean shorts with my black Vans. I put on red lipstick and looked in the mirror.

It looked like a perfect casual outfit, and I was super excited to hang with the guys.

I have about half an hour till they come, so I fed Delilah and scrolled through twitter.

The doorbell rang, and I grabbed my bag and walked out the door.

I hope they have something planned, because I don't want to start my break off boring.

The whole car ride there, we were blasting All Time Low and Nirvana songs and singing way too loud.

One car even honked at us and told us to be quiet.

When we got there, we all sat on the couch to play video games.

I was playing COD against Michael.

"WHAT?!" he yelled as I beat him.

"HAHAHA YOU JUST GOT BEAT BY A GIRL!" Calum yelled to make him more upset.

Luke was high-fiving me, and Ashton was just giggling at the whole scene.

After a couple more rounds, Calum and Ashton started making dinner, leaving me, Luke, and Michael sitting in the living room.

"Wellllll.... I'll be upstairs." Michael said awkwardly before running towards the staircase, leaving just me and Luke.

"And then there were 2.." he whispered under his breathe.

"Why don't we play 20 questions?" I suggested, trying to make the scene less awkward than it already was.

"Okay. I'll go first." he said.

Maybe this wasn't a great idea...

"What's your favorite color?" he asked.

"Yellow. It's such a happy color." I answered.

"Aw that's nice. Well, your turn." he said.

I had to think about it for a minute until I asked, "Have you ever been in a relationship before?"

"Yeah, 2. But I was only 11 in one of them, and in the other one it was just a dare.." he said, looking down at his hands.

"I'm sorry I asked.." I felt guilty, but wanted to keep going so I said, "well, your turn."

"What's your favorite flower?" he asked me.

"Why flower? That's so weird!" I laughed.

"I don't know, I just wanna know some of your favorite things." he blushed.

"Well my favorite flower is tulips."

"Okay. My turn!" I told him. "Have you had your first kiss before?"

He looked at me like he was surprised I asked before answering. "Yeah, but I was 11, and it didn't mean anything at all." he laughed.

I chuckled a bit before adding, "okay. Well your turn."

"Are you single?" he asked.

"Um yeahhh." I answered, laughing shyly.

"Okay. You're turn."

Just as I was about to ask Luke my question, Calum, Ashton, and Michael came in saying that dinner was ready.

It took them so long, you'd think they cooked something fancy. Turns out, they just made Vegemite toast.

We all sat down at the table to eat, making jokes with each other the whole time.

Luke's P.O.V. -

I'm love my band mates right now.

They tried to stall time making dinner so I could hang alone with Rose.

Oh yeah, I think I like her. A lot. So I told them, just to make sure they'd back off.

They told me that they were just friends with her, and that I didn't have to worry.

When she told me she was single, I wanted to cheer.

We have such a long break; I think I'm going to make a move soon.

I know we haven't known each other long, but it was love at first sight, like Noah and Allie in 'The Notebook'. I can tell. She's amazing.

Yellow tulips. I gotta remember that.

I love how her name was Rose. It makes my idea so much better.

But you'll find that out later. Right now, let's eat dinner.
