The One To Save You || Luke Hemmings

Chapter 16:

Luke's P.O.V. -

Last night was both amazing and so scary and intense all together. I found out that I'm going on tour with One Direction! And Rosie said she loved me. I don't think she knows I heard her, though. She thought I was still passed out. Then she kissed my cheek, and I had to open my eyes. I needed to see her beautiful face.

But on the other side of last night, I thought I was going to get killed. Hopefully Rose didn't think I was insane for going out there. I needed to protect her, though. She means the world to me.

We've all spent the last two days having fun together. We're leaving for the tour on the last day of winter break, which means Rosie has to face high school alone. I know she's 16 years old and can handle it, but I don't want her to be hurt. I want her to be happy. But I'll constantly be talking to her on tour, no matter what timezone I'm in.

Anyway, its Wednesday and we're getting ready for our show tonight. Over 700 people are going to be there, and I'm a nervous wreck.

Rose's P.O.V. -

The boys are getting ready for their show right now and they're all so nervous. I try my best to calm them down, though. Especially Luke. He looked like he was on the verge of tears.

"Luke, you need to calm down and listen to me, okay? You're going to do great. Everyone's only here because they love you guys! Hell, you guys are going on tour with One Direction! You guys are amazing and there's no doubt in my mind saying you won't do good tonight, okay?"

"Gosh, what did I do to deserve a best friend like you, Rose?" he said to me. He couldn't get any cuter.

"I think its the other way around, Lukey. Now go perform!" I yelled jokingly.

They performed like it was the last thing they''d ever do. They were amazing.

"LUKEYYYY!!!" I yelled the second the stepped off stage. I ran up to him and engulfed him in a huge hug. "THAT WAS AMAZING! And ew you're sweaty." I teased.

"Oh am I now?" he said sarcastically as he hugged me tighter and didn't let go.

"Ewwwwww Luke stop! You're sooooo gross!" I laughed.

"C'mon Luke, share her!" Calum joked.

"Yeah, we're friends with Rosie too!" Michael yelled.

"Yeah Luke. I want my own Rosie hug!" Ashton giggled.

"Okay guys! Group hug!" I yelled to everyone. I was suddenly crushed in a huge 5sos hug.

Besides Luke's hugs, 5sos band hugs are the best kinds of hugs.

On the drive home, Luke asked me if he could spend the night at my apartment.

"Why? Don't you wanna spend time with your family before you leave?"

"I've lived with them for 16 years, Ro. One night won't matter."

Luke had an extra pair of clothes at my place already for situations like this, so we both got into our pajamas when we got there.

We sat on the couch watching stupid TV shows and laughing at all of the mistakes until about 10:00. Then, Luke suggested we watch 'White Chicks' to keep up the funny mood.

I was so tired from the day of cheering for the boys that I started falling asleepleaning on Luke's shoulder.

Eventually, I let my tiredness take over me...

Luke's P.O.V. -

We were sitting on the couch watching a movie together when all of a sudden, I felt her head fall into my lap.

She fell asleep on my shoulder again, just like the first night I spent at her house.

I carried her up to her bed and made sure she was completely comfortable before walking back downstairs.

I texted Ashton my plan and told him to tell the boys, too. He agreed to help me, which made things a whole lot easier.

This was it. Tomorrow's the day. The day I've been waiting for. I hope everything goes the right way.
