Envy pats himself down, trying to feel if he had gotten any injuries. "What... what is this?!"
Is this.. an emotion..?! What am I feeling...?
He glanced behind him, noticing the trail he had left behind. It had withered grass and flowers up to where he was standing. He froze, realizing that at some point, he must have lost some control of himself.
"No... Kindness.. he.. he saw me in that state."
Jason darted between trees as fast as he could. He ran a long distance and by now his lungs were crying for air, He checked behind him and felt a huge wave of relief when he didn't spot Envy.
He slid down and leaned against a tree, panting heavily. Jason placed a hand on his face out of distress.
"I'm... I'm alone again..."
Jason noticed that the left leg of his pants were ripped. Blood was also staining the area. He rolled up the pants carefully and grimaced at the wound. It was a huge cut which he must have gotten from a tree or bush.
"I didn't notice the cut until now... What should I do?"
A strange feeling went over Jason. His right hand moved towards the wound and he unconsciously placed his palm on it.
"Huh?" Jason lifted up his hand, confused. "Why did I do that..?" His palm is smeared in blood. Looking back at his leg, his wound seems to have disappeared.
He slowly touched the spot where the cut was. There doesn't seem to be anything. When he straightened his leg there was no lain.
"It disappeared..?!" Jason stared at his leg in disbelief. The only proof that there was a wound is the blood left on his right palm.
"Could this be..?" Jason pulled the glove off his left hand in a hurry. He placed his palm and the grass and they started to wilt and lose color almost instantly. He then placed his right palm in the same area. It was a slow progress but he can see it. The grass is slowly turning back to its natural color. After a few seconds, the patch of withered grass regained back their healthy green.
Jason pulled the glove back on his hand as he smiled in relief. "This must be Essence." He muttered, recalling that Virtues can also have abilities. "I can heal my wounds.. I can even cure the curse I have!"
"Seto would be thrilled..." His good mood came to an abrupt stop when he remembered his situation. "I have to get back to everyone." Jason looked around to see if the area is familiar.
"I'm out of the kingdom.." Jason sighed. "Maybe Envy could..." The Sin's face flashed in his mind and he shuddered. "No.. I can't ask him to take me back."
He wonders if he could somehow enter a ripple that Envy created. It was the only thing he could think of to get back to where he was. "But that means..." Jason swallowed as he slowly got up. "I.. I have to go back."
There doesn't seem to be any sign of Envy. It looked like he stopped chasing after him at some point. Jason cautiously made his way back and hid behind a tree. He poked his head out and saw that Envy hadn't left. He was still out in the field with a strange look on his face.
Envy finally turned around and started walking away. Jason scowled, feeling that something was off.
There was something dark snaking behind Envy. "Wh.. what is that?" He muttered as he squinted, trying to make out what it was. It looked to be a shadow, following Envy. It gives Jason bad vibes the longer he looks at it.
"There's no way Kindness would want to be with me..." Envy muttered. "I'm a Sin... and He's a Virtue... it's how it should be..."
As he took another step, the world around him seems to have fallen into darkness. Envy looked around, alarmed. "Wh-what?!"
Something is materializing out of the very darkness behind his back.
"Hello, Invidia."
Envy's eyes widened as he whirled around, coming face to face with the Sin which he regarded the most dangerous.
"Superbia..." Envy muttered.
He had never interacted with the Sin before but his instincts tell him that Pride was probably the strongest Sin of them all. Even if Pride isn't in his physical form, his presence alone is enough to make Envy anxious.
Pride's violet eyes seem to glow immensely in the darkness. He smirked. "I came back from my little vacation and the first thing I see is you, running after some Virtue." He said, tauntingly.
Envy scowled. "It.. it's nothing."
"Nothing...? I'm curious about what's going on between you two."
"Nothing's going on." Envy growled. "Why are you here?"
"I'm looking for a suitable body." Pride replied as if it was a matter of fact. "I would like to get back in my normal form before anything big happens." One of his corners of his mouth perked up, revealing his sharp teeth. "It looks like the Virtue is watching us right now.. Should I pay him a visit?"
"Superbia.. No, you-" Before Envy can do anything, the darkness around him dissipates. He sees Pride's shadow going straight towards Jason who's eyes widened in fear from behind a tree.
