82: Travel

Under Ant's and Brice's guide, they went to towns after towns, looking to see if his friends were there.

Nearly all of them were in ruins, just standing as a memory of what used to be a lively place.

"This realm is a mess..." Seto muttered as they navigated through the broken debris.

"It must have been Ira's doing..." Ant said. "He had destroyed things before..."

Brice nodded in agreement.

"Wrath did this...?" Seto frowned, looking around. The town they were in was in complete shambles.

"Either that or the quakes," Ant added.

Seto felt a pang of pain at the stab wound. He reached for his chest, grimacing. What... happened exactly...? He tried to recall what happened back then but couldn't.

Once he had broken the taboo, things turned into a blur. There were all these voices trying to reach out to him all at once. Only when he had heard his teacher's voice calling out to him did he come to his senses.

I have to be careful when I'm using my ability now... Seto thought, looking at his bandaged right hand. He wouldn't want to lose control of himself again.

He suddenly remembered Jimmy talking about Ty. If he spoke of him, Jimmy must know where he's at. The next time Jimmy appears, he'll have to make him confess the location. If Seto has to beat it out of him, he will do it.

But... who exactly is Jimmy...? He referred to Brice and Ant as experiments... Seto glanced at the two, eyeing their bandages and battered clothing.

"What happened at the lab...?" Seto asked suddenly. "... Do you two have information on Jimmy?"

Both Ant and Brice flinched at the mention of Jimmy's name. Seto took notice and felt bad immediately. "S-sorry... I didn't mean to—"

"No, it's alright." Ant let out a sigh. "Jimmy... he wasn't always like that."

"Us three were friends together when we were young." He continued. "But... one day something changed."

Brice had a guilt-ridden face as he nodded slowly.

"H-He was just talking to himself at first... but..." Brice trailed off.

"Yes... Jimmy started to do reckless things." Ant said. "He'd go and jump off of the roof or attempt to drown himself in the bathroom..."

"Wha-what...?!" Seto was shocked. "Why would he do that?!"

"We're not sure either!" Brice exclaimed. "O-one night... We were sleeping and... and..." His voice trembled. "W-we woke up one night... to find him stabbing a man multiple times."

"He went completely insane." Ant cried out. "Brice and I tried to get away but he used his powers. After that, we must have been knocked out or something... We both woke up in a cell."

"Other people were thrown in the other cells soon after..." Brice recounted.

"I... I remember someone who was there but he wasn't imprisoned." Ant grabbed the amulet around his neck and squeezed it tight. "He... He gave me this amulet and disappeared."

Ant back in our world gave Sky an amulet too... Seto thought. In this case... would... Would it be Wrath...? But that doesn't make any sense...

"He appeared after Brice was...." Ant stopped, looking at Brice.

"Jimmy... he said he wouldn't kill us since we were special..." Brice said. "But... he still used us..."
