In the 5 months that Percy has been missing, Camp Half-Blood changed. The demigods have grown lazy choosing to fool around and begin meaningless relationships rather than wholeheartedly training. Some chose to take their training seriously but most, especially most veterans, chose the lazy route.
The cabin leaders changed slightly as well, all had a hatred for themselves. They kept busy and tried their best to keep camp running with it usual activities. There were plenty of new demigods arriving at both camps due to Lady Artemis' new member. The cabin leaders were always happy for more siblings being claimed upon arrival. They sought to make sure they could protect themselves and be ready for anything that could happen.
They tried to, the cabin leaders truly tried to teach the new generation but they argued that the world was at peace. Apparently there was no need to train if nothing threatened the peace that settled. Clarisse even went on a rant about how their own generation wasn't prepared for the two wars and lost so many due to not being ready.
Clarisse taught any that were willing to learn in the arena, alongside Annabeth. Though it was Annabeth that had changed the most out of all the campers.
Sure she taught the demigods how to fight with a sword but she always seemed distracted. Not to mention her new found hobby of challenging the boys. Anyone who ever hit on Annabeth, tried to date her, or even be her friend was challenged to a duel.
In every duel Annabeth would be relentless in her attack, she was angry and ferocious. Some of her friends tried to talk to her about it but she shrugged it off saying "They should take it more seriously. Who knows when something might come and lower our number even further."
She taught battle strategies, Clarisse taught weapon handling, Will taught the healers, Piper helped wherever she could. Leo was stuck in bunker 8 or with Calypso all day. Hazel and Frank trained whoever they could at the roman camp. Jason lead many camp activities and kept the peace between the camps. The Stolls only played pranks on newbies and actually taught the kids how to survive in the cities. Katie Gardener did her best to keep everyone somewhat happy but a missing hero is still a missing hero.
Annabeth submitted designs, floor plans, and temple ideas to Olympus but she never oversaw the work. She trained, taught classes, challenged boys, and then locked herself up in the Athena cabin searching for Percy.
Out of all the demigods in camp, Annabeth hated herself the most. The thought of never clearing up the misunderstanding with Percy was enough to make her feel sick. She regrets the doubt she carried for Percy, Annabeth almost believed those stupid rumors.
Percy's eyes appeared in her mind and it happened again. The sight of seeing so much pain in his murky green eyes caused pain to her. Annabeth closed her eyes as she felt her breathing shorten, struggling for air. Her head was pounding and her heart felt as though someone was squeezing it tightly in their hand. Such was the curse bestowed on her by Aphrodite when she learned Annabeth had "cheated."
Thunder boomed outside taking Annabeth out of her stupor, the gods are here.
Outside in the middle of the cabins were the Olympians greeting their children. The cabin leaders were giving their reports and updating their parents on anything relating to the celestial world.
Annabeth stood with her siblings waiting for Athena to approach them. The goddess noticed her daughter even though she stood at the back of the group. Upon arriving in front of her children Athena smiled brightly before greeting them. "Hello children." Her voice was calm collected yet also heart warming to their ears. "How have all of my powerful thinkers been?"
Around Camp Half-Blood, all was loud as the gods met with their children. Some of them in participated in cabin activities like Hermes, Demeter, Aphrodite, and Hephaestus. One god however, stood on the beach looking out to the ever expanding sea.
