Olympus' Biggest Mistake

Chapter 15

After Sam, the angler fish, was flashed to the depths of the sea, Ares was released. A whisper from Poseidon made sure the god of war would not retaliate.

So, the meeting continued immediately after Kevin was flashed back to camp. Rachel stepped forward knowing exactly why she was summoned before the gods. "Tell me Oracle," Zeus called out in eagerness. Chin resting on his right fist. "Will the lost hero ever return, or will he perish?"

Rachel's eyes glowed green as smoke of the same color poured from her mouth. Then a raspy ancient voice was heard for all curious ears present.

"When the world becomes shrouded in shadows,

creatures of the deep shall return to the shallows.

You of snow and ice will cross the border,

to obtain your vision of law and order.

Hidden from all eyes deep within their wood,

sisters remain until gods grow good."

After the prophecy was spoken, Apollo caught the oracle before she could fall to the ground. All eyes were on Zeus, an angry expression clear on his face. Athena stepped in to offer a positive interpretation.

"Perhaps it means the mythological world will change for the better when we gods change as well." Athena looked to her father for any sign, but his hands were clenched into fists. "The Grey sisters could be the sisters who hide, maybe they grow fearful of us. As for the world covered in darkness, it could be that their mother Nyx might be behind it."

A hand rises from Zeus before Athena could speak further effectively silencing her. "It's a warning. Some deity wishes to overthrow Olympus, that much is certain." Zeus looked to those gathered before him, a heavy sigh leaving his mouth. "This meeting is over. Demigods, forgive yourselves and find Perseus."

Zeus was the first to flash out, the others flashed later after the demigods and oracle were taken back home. Annabeth and the cabin leaders now had a new prophecy to deliver. Deciphering said prophecy would prove to be a bit more difficult, after all, they're always so damn cryptic.

The moment Artemis flashed in with Jack and Thalia, Jasmine tackles Thalia with a hug. Jack nudged the pair with his snout affectionately. Thalia became a mother figure in the two months since Jasmine joined the hunters of Artemis. Even other younger girls looked to her as a mother, to Artemis as their savior, and to Jack as their personal guardian and pet.

Deciding to retire for the day in their peaceful new base, Jack and Thalia headed to the lieutenant's tent. Jack however thought it was time to let Thalia in on his plans with Zoë, she did have the circlet that was required.

These past two months were full of work Jack needed to get done. Besides guiding and helping demigods to either camps or bringing new girls the hunters, Jack set out to find some Olympians to join his side.

He received blessings from Hephaestus, Hestia, Artemis, Demeter, Hermes, and Apollo. Contrary to popular belief, the blessing of a god or goddess does not mean you are guaranteed a new power. It actually gives the blessed the power to exceed their limitations and grow stronger in their own power. The only thing Jack got was the basic knowledge to forging, plant life, and decent marksmanship.
