The Hesperides all gasped at the words that came from Percy's mouth. "To bring one back from the realm of Hades is impossible." Erytheia said.
"Not to mention the fact that it would be quite selfish if they reside in Elysium." Hesperia stated somewhat questioning his actions.
Arethusa stepped forward, a look of concern on her face. "What you seek to accomplish is selfish, Ladon will kill you if you attempt to take an apple."
"She is correct." Aegle said also taking a step forward. Perhaps they disliked the thought of an actual nice hero going down for something absurd. "Better you leave instead of risk certain death young Perseus."
Percy grinned wildly at the ladies before him. "The soul I want to bring back doesn't reside in my uncle's realm actually." The Hesperides looked at the young demigod confused. "The huntress in the stars is the one I want to ask. It's kind of the reason why I came to talk to you first." Percy said smiling sheepishly.
"You wish for us to speak on your behalf to our sister?" Aegle half exclaimed. At his nod in response she continued. "We haven't reached out to her since her passing." Aegle lowers her head in shame.
Hesperia comforted her sister before turning to the young demigod. "Though I'm sure our sister watches us from the stars, I cannot say in full confidence that she will reply."
"She will." Percy said flatly, a bright smile on his face. The first true bright 'Percy smile' in a long time. "Just ask her one question for me."
Arethusa nodded in his direction, "Very well, what shall be your question?"
"Can I give Riptide to Hercules?" He flashed a mischievous smile towards the ladies knowing full well Zoë would react.
Just as the Hesperides were about to reply from their warm smiles, a bright flash appeared between them. The light died down before three tall beautiful woman were revealed. They were different though, they were aging and regressing as the time went by, the Fates have made their appearance.
"Young Perseus" the fates called as one, "You tamper with fate and disturb the balance we maintain." Percy looked at them in annoyance. "It is not fated that the huntress in the stars lives, yet you seek to change that fate?"
"Let me ask you this then." Percy took a few steps towards the imposing women. "If her soul is in the stars then is she really dead or is she really alive?" At their looks of astonishment, Percy continues. "If she's dead then regardless she would be in the realm of Hades."
"What you say is true. Zoë Nightshade is neither living nor dead. Tread carefully young hero, the path you are on is a good one, but it could be the end of half of you."
"Wait. What does that even mean? Am I going to be split in half or something?" The Hesperides giggled at Percy while the fates made to leave.
They turned away before speaking again. "You have always been one of the few that we could not fully control through fate Jack. We wish you luck in your endeavors."
The fates flashed away leaving amused Hesperides and a confused Percy. "Seriously?" Percy asked no one in particular but directed his voice at the maidens. "What do they ever even mean half of the time?"
"Perhaps it was but a tease." Hesperia said with a smile gracing her beautiful features.
"As for the answer to your question, our sister seeks the reason you wish to bring her back to this world." Arethusa states, gliding across the soft green grass.
Percy adjusts himself, collecting his thoughts together. "I need help in keeping peace on earth. Not just keeping demigods safe and taking out monsters. I want a new state of peace, where the gods are held accountable, demigods don't hold grudges, heroes are trained, and children live to see family."
Though Percy could not know it, Zoë listened to the young hero with her sisters, standing right in front of him was Zoë's soul. "Honestly, I plan to train each other in all we know along with gain knew techniques. I can pretty much count on at least four blessings from Olympians, but we need more."
Zoë's soul moved to stand closer Percy. She actually missed this gentle and brave hero, the only kind male on the planet.
"I've never been one for power or the idea of godhood." Percy cast his head down choosing to favor the ground. "But I need it, I need to be stronger for so many people."
Percy raised his head slowly, a dark expression on his face. "I need to challenge Zeus and force the changes needed for peace." His words had shocked Zoë for a moment.
Zoë had already agreed. She knew perfectly well that she would love to preserve peace and join her friends again. However, she also knew deep down where Percy was going with what he was saying.
"I don't expect to win, to be honest," Percy sheepishly rubbed the back of his head, a smile tugging at his lips. "So I need you to be there, when Zeus barely wins I need to pass the blessings to you."
A true sincere smile made his way to his tan face. "So what do you say? Help me out?"
"The tiara of the lieutenant." Heperia says.
"An apple from the tree that is before you." Arethusa states.
"A soul captured with acceptance!" Aegle exclaims suddenly.
"The prayers of loved ones left behind." Erytheia states matter-of-factly.
"The blessing of her patron goddess" Percy says confusingly.
Arethusa nods in confirmation. "She speaks to us but it seems you are already able to catch whispers of her voice."
"With these mentioned, Zoë will return in both body and soul." Erytheia explains, making her way towards Ladon. "Due to you being her soul's keeper, she will inherit some of your strength and power."
"Thank you so much ladies." Percy bowed to each maiden, placing a small gentle kiss to their hands. "Tell Zoë it won't be long for me."
The raven haired demigod set to putting the plan in motion. He gave Ladon a petting hand to his under jaw before gracefully grabbing an apple. Percy gave his thanks once again, including to the friendly dragon, and left to complete part three.
On his way back to the hunters, Percy transformed back into his human form when night fell and he could see the stars clearly. He took a claw in a finger, something he just did on instinct, and carved into his left shoulder. Once he was complete with carving the huntress constellation onto his skin he looked up into the starry night.
"Alright girl. Get over here and lets get you back to your family." Percy exclaims. Arms outstretched in a hug towards the sky, an excited smile visible in his face.
A spot in the sky brightened for a moment before a shooting star streaked across the sky. Suddenly, the star was growing closer and larger to Percy. He braced before his surroundings were covered in a bright flash of light. His shoulder stung with pain but he gritted his teeth feeling it heal with a burning sensation.
When Percy knew that light cleared away he opened his eyes to look at his shoulder. A scar in the shape of the huntress constellation lay on his skin as if it had been there for years.
Jack was now back into his wolf form and a white patch of fur was on his shoulder. A similar shape to the huntress in the stars. It was time to go back. The last three things are going to be home and he needs to hurry if he wants peace for everyone.
