Annabeth checked in at Percy's cabin everyday, she decided to stay at camp for a while. She wanted a chance to do things the right way with Percy, but two weeks had passed. No one has seen Percy leave that cabin in for two whole weeks and Annabeth assumed he stayed in the ocean.
Just to be certain, she went to Olympus and asked Poseidon if maybe Percy was staying with him. His response however, was that he last sensed Percy in his domain two weeks ago. The worst thought came to mind and Annabeth rushed right back to the camp. She called and yelled for Percy to come out, she told him to at least accept the food she leaves out but eventually gave up.
Another two weeks passed, a total of four weeks, and Percy hasn't come out. A few of the campers started to feel sorry for him and felt regret. Annabeth decided to take some campers with her to convince Chiron to get Percy out and check on him for his safety. Later that day, Chiron went up to his cabin with the campers to call him out with authority.
All of the campers gathered around to see what the big deal was. "Percy, we need you to come out. If you want to ignore us fine, but let us make sure you aren't dead." Chiron called out. Whispers about Percy being a loser, dead, or dangerous floated around.
Deciding he wasn't going to be disobeyed, Chiron tried to reach for his cabin door handle. Just inches away his hand was stopped by an invisible wall. He tried and tried but couldn't even touch the oustside of the cabin at all. Chiron turned and tried to kick the door down with his hooves only for him to be launched away. The campers gasped at the display of the camp director being launched by an invisible force.
Chiron ordered archers to aim for the door from a safe distance away and shoot all at once on his signal. "Just aim for the door and take it down if you can. Fire!" When the arrows were in the air the campers gasped as they saw a similar shimmer to the camp barrier. The arrows stopped inches from the cabin door and promptly fell to the ground. Just then, the gods, except Artemis and Hestia, flashed into camp to see the gathering of campers.
"Why is everyone standing infront of my son's cabin?" Poseidon commanded an answer.
Chiron just stared at Percy's cabin. "Percy Jackson errected a barrier around his cabin. He hasn't been out of it for about four weeks."
"Nonsense." Athena called. "How can he possibly do such a thing?" She pulled a sword out to swing at the door only for it to be deflected out of her hand and land 3 meters behind her. Her jaw dropped and she heard her father's voice boom behind her.
"Enough! Perseus Jackson, come out of the cabin, the council is here for you on business." When Zues received no answer he took aim with his bolt. "Insolent child!"
"Wait brother, you could kill him. At the least lessen the power you use."
Zeus nodded and did so. He was beyond stunned to see his bolt absorbed by the barrier, effectively making it visible when it did so. Poseidon noticed something about it and couldn't stop a smile from appearing on his face.
He walked to the cabin door to reach for the handle and heard the entire camp gasp when he opened the door.
"Poseidon? Just how..." Zues asked in bewilderment.
"It was a water barrier I taught him. The thiner the barrier the stronger it is and it only allows access to me or my spawn." Poseidon stated proudly. A barrier as thin as this showed that Percy had a similar amount of control and power over water as he did. He entered the cabin to find it a slight mess and with out Percy or some of his belongings. He checked every crack and crevice including the statue just to be sure he left any clues. He felt his heart break when he saw the message on the back of the statue. "Trust no one but Poseidon and the sea. -PJ"
Poseidon exited the cabin heartbroken, something happened to his precious son. "He's gone. He's just gone, like that, no trace. I can't even feel his aura anymore." Annabeth just turned around and left, too fed up with the situation.
Meanwhile with Percy, as usual running from monsters, killing them, and masking his aura. He knew at some point Olympus would send out a search for him. He was making his way to the Roman camp in hopes of finding possible friends in Jason, Piper, Frank, Hazel, and possibly even Reyna.
Upon arriving, the nervousness that took residence in Percy was gone as everyone in New Rome warmly greated him. Some even thanked him for requesting the gods to visit their children to bond and spend time together. He looked around relieved that this camp won't turn on him, oh how wrong he was. Percy then made his way to where Reyna's office was in order to ask to stay for a while, possibly forever.
The demigod entered surprised to find Frank Zhang sat on a high chair next to her. Looks like he got that great promotion all right. Reyna looked up to see who had entered. Before her eyes stood a disheveled head of dark hair, weary sea green eyes you could still get lost in, tattered clothes, and many cuts with some bruises. "Oh my gods Percy!" Reyna stood up to quickly get to him.
"Hey Reyna. Congrats and hi, Frank." Frank stood up shocked to see Percy so worn out. Reyna grabbed him by the shoulders and gave him a quick check over. But relaxed when she saw a small yet forced smile grace his lips.
"What happened to you? Don't tell me Camp Half-Blood was attacked." She panicked.
He released a chuckle at her worried expression. "No nothing like that. Long story short, that place has turned their backs on me, Annabeth cheated, and I just left hoping to stay with you guys, maybe forever."
Reyna stood there eyes wide, mouth open, and felt disappointed with the greek camp. Once she calmed herself she sat on her praetor chair and signaled Percy to take the seat in front. "Very well Percy you can stay, but first tell me everything."
Percy told them everything, from his rejection of godhood to Sam and Annabeth on the beach kissing. Percy let his head hang down, his messy dark hair covering his face. "I think Sam is the cause of all of this."
"What makes you think that?" Frank asked intuitively.
"He had this smirk when he saw me catch them. Now that I think about it, this all started with that stupid rumor about Clarisse. From then, the Ares cabin, his cabin, turned against me and started to hate me."
"I see. Percy, stay as long as you would like to. Maybe you can help us keep order or teach." Reyna noticed Percy stiffen at the mention of teaching and raised an eyebrow.
"I'll try to help with order or whatever, but I can't teach again. Im sorry Reyna but I'll just train alone." He gave her a reassuring smile.
Just then thunder rumbled in the sky Reyna and Frank got up for the gods' visit. They both however, noticed Percy practically scurry to the corner. "Percy? What are you doing?" Frank asked confused.
Percy sheepishly rubbed the back of his head. "I may have left out the part where Olympus might be after me because of the rumors."
"It's fine. Just stay in here, stay quite and we'll come back later, ok?" Reyna kindly told Percy. At the nod of his head they left to go see their parents. Most of the Roman gods appeared in Roman form then Jupiter looked on to the crowd.
"Where is Perseus Jackson?" Jupiter asked the campers with authority lacing his voice.
Reyna stepped forward before anyone could answer. "Shouldn't he be at the Greek camp? We haven't seen him since the war. But, why are you looking for him lord Jupiter?"
