About two weeks have passed since the new prophecy was revealed.
Although Percy and Thalia explained everything they could to Artemis, it was decided that his identity be kept a secret. Only they three, later including Zoë, would know that Percy and Jack are the same being.
Jack and Artemis planned out the events for Zoë's resurrection. Jack wanted to bring back Zoë as soon as he could especially with the new prophecy.
If a new threat has appeared against Olympus, demigods would fight their war again. Many live would be lost just to protect gods who don't even protect their own children. Jack needs to be sure things of such nature would never come to pass.
After a few hunts ordered by Zeus, the hunters and Jack returned home to their hidden forest in California. The sun set beautifully behind the trees. Rays of sunlight peeked through the trees as wind blew calmly over head.
The hunters lounged around their protected home. Some went about doing various activities and chores. Other girls were either playing with Jack or relaxing, sharing laughs with their sisters.
Tents littered the site. A large fire pit was placed in the middle of the base of the hunters. On either side of the fire pit was the dining tent and Artemis' tent.
As everyone was enjoying their peace, the moon goddess looked on with a smile. She was truly determined to bring back Zoë and help Jack.
Artemis set her mind to focus on the task before her. Tonight was the night she would gather her hunters. They would pray for her return while Artemis would bless her soul with partial immortality.
Along with the apple and tiara, Jack would help bring back the former lieutenant of the hunters.
Thalia fiddled with tiara on her head as a soft breeze blew through her growing dark hair. She smiled happily as she saw Jack being taken down by Kayla and Jasmine. Those two had the closest bond to Jack after Thalia and Artemis.
Thalia let out a soft laugh as she witnessed one of the little girls pull on Jack's tail. He visibly flinched with wide eyes before he turned to tickle the girl.
"Oh no she didn't." Thalia heard Jack in her head. His sassy girl imitation was ridiculously funny for a man with a deep voice.
The little girl laughed hysterically as Jack used his snout to tickle her small body. "Yeah. Take this tickle attack!" Thalia heard in her mind once again.
The daughter of Zeus enjoyed the moment, content with how life had progressed for her. Percy was back and would stay as her hidden lover. Peace was about to come about to the world thanks to him. The hunters now had a place to call home and return to safely.
With Zoë's return soon approaching, Thalia had the mindset to willingly give up her lieutenant position. If Artemis permits it, she wishes to spend most if not all her time with Percy.
🔱
Night approached as the hunters spent their time joyfully at home. The skies were clear of clouds and let the stars shine brightly. Overhead, the moon chariot rode across driven by Diana, Artemis' Roman version.
All the girls were finishing up their meals as Artemis called out to them.
Artemis clapped her hands for the attention of the hunters. "Gather around girls. Jack included as well."
"For those of you that don't know about our previous lieutenant, her name is Zoë Nightshade. She was a daughter of Atlas and a sister of the Hesperides that lived in Hera's garden."
