Felicity's POV

The week passed by pretty quickly. Fran got his driver liscense. Dad has been busy with his work and mom with hers. She didn't get the job that she interviewed for last week. The one down our lane but she got a call yesterday from a restaurant inthe town. It's a little far but she said she could manage. She'd lose her mind if she isn't able to cook all day. Nity made some friends in school in the very first two-three days like us and she has a playdate today with all of them.

All of us have been getting along pretty well at school. We sit at lunch together and spend time with each other in our free periods. Everyone except Felix. He's always there with us but he's not exactly there. Then again, so aren't I.

I don't talk much either but I think by now everyone in the group has understood that it's just the way I am. We haven't talked ever since our moment. Some glances here and there are thrown but that's it. Not even a 'hey'.

I am braiding Nity's hair right now and getting her ready for her playdate.

I have to get ready too. I have to go to Claire's house. I told her yesterday in school that I don't actually have any party clothes. If I did, I left them behind. Like everything else. Obviously I didn't tell her that. She told me that she'd pick something up for me when she was going to the mall with Jenny and I could pay her later.

I quickly put on a t-shirt and jeans and go downstairs. Mom isn't home. Dad is. He is working in his room.

I'll ask Fran to drop me once Affinity's friends get here. I read for some time while eating an apple.

After around twenty minutes the doorbell rings.

I get up to open the door. I twist the doorknob open and-

"Felix? What are you doing here?" I ask surprisingly. Seriously, what is he doing here?

And then I notice that behind him is a kid who's almost around Affinity's age. Ah, that is what's going on around here.

"Oh hey, um, Felicity? How are you here?" he asks as surprised as I am.

I look behind me once to se if dad is anywhere near here and then when I see that he's not I reply "I live here"

And then I look down the driveway to make sure that mom isn't here back from work right now. Road clear. Thank god. Even though I'm pretty sure that Felix is not a friend but my parents cannot meet someone I am even acquainted with.

"Oookay. So Affinity is your sister?" he asks me with an eyebrow up.

"Yes. And this is?" I smile down at the boy who was now standing in front of me.

"I'm Samuel but you can call me Sam. I met Affinity in drawing club this week and her mom invited me and three other friends for a playdate. I mean your mom" he explains nervously.

I smile at him.

"Yes I know sweetie. She's in her room. It's right down the hallway. You can go and play with her" I tell him while showing him where Nity's room is.

He runs instantly and I turn to look at Felix.

"This is a pleasant coincidence" he smirks at me. I just roll my eyes.

"You're coming to the party later right?" he asks me.

"Ya. I was just leaving for Claire's to get ready" I tell him honestly.

He looks at me for a few seconds and says "Come on. I'll drop you. Her house is on the way to mine"

"Oh no that's okay. Fran will drop me" I tell him because I did not want to be in a car with him. Alone

"Why trouble him when the house is literally on my way Felicity?" he says looking at me. My name sounds weird coming from his mouth. Good weird. I almost want him to say it again.

I look at him and actually think about it. I should give Fran a break. My parents won't let me get a driver's liscence so he has to drive me everywhere. He shouldn't have to. What could go wrong? It's just a car ride.

"Come on Felicity. I don't bite" Felix says breaking me out of my chain of thoughts. There it is. The way he says my name. I can't not go now.

"Alright. But let me tell Fran and my dad that I'm leaving" I tell him and walk inside the house.

***

We're sitting in Felix's car right now and none of us have spoken anything in the past five minutes. It's not awkward though. I know he doesn't talk much. He knows I'm not much of a talker. It's actually quite really comfortable

"Are you hungry?" he asks suddenly turning down the volume of the radio. What?

"What?" I ask mirroring my thoughts.

"Do you have a hearing impairment? I asked you if you were hungry. If you are we can stop at Abizza's before we go to Claire's" he says looking straight ahead while driving.

"Who's Abizza?" I ask looking at him.

"She's my step-father's mom. Samuel is my step-brother. He introduced me to his grandmother and this place. This place has the best cheeseburgers and milkshakes in town. You should try them" he says.

And then I suddenly realise that this is the first proper conversation we've ever had. A conversation at that. Well if you don't count our incident that is and suddenly I remember how close we were that day. I could smell his minty breath from where I was. Oh my god.

"No" I suddenly blurt out.

He looks at me with a confused expression on his face.

"I meant that I am already really late for Claire's house and I kinda wanna get ready for my first party this year and in this city" I tell him. Well, some of that was honest.

He smirks. What is he smirking for right now? I swear the only expressions I've seen this boy wear are smirks and the cold ones.

"I can't wait to see you then precious" he says. It rolls of his tongue so easily.

I roll my eyes and reply "Shut up you perv and stop calling me that"

"What? Precious?" he asks smirking knowingly again.

"If you call me that one more time, I'll take you in a headlock and shun your precious parts before you can even say precious" I look straight at him with very much threat in my eyes. He doesn't get to call me that.

"Oh my lord. You are so violent. But I like it. It's got a kink to it" he says and winks at me. EWW.

"Eww. You were so much better when you weren't talking" I say rolling my eyes and looking out the window.

"I was better? This is getting better" he smirks for the hundredth time today.

I look at him in disbelief with my head still against the window.

"Just drive, you idiot"

Hey guys!

I know I promised five chapters a week but I'm reducing it to three chapters a week.

Also, Samuel and Affinity are friends. What do you think about them?

Let me know in the comments.
