Felicity's POV
"Guys, I'll see you later" Claire says to all of us and winks. She's clinging to a tall boy. He must be a college guy.
We've all been sitting here talking. Felix left to dance, I guess. Fran is talking to the new soccer friends he's made. Summer is god knows where. I'm starting to get worried about her. And Claire is now leaving with some college guy.
"Who's gonna drop you?" Isaac asks trying not to look at her.
"Nathan here will drop me. Won't you Nathan?" she smiles drunkenly at the Nathan guy.
"Yes, I'll drop her don't worry" he smiles at Isaac. Isaac looks at both of them as they trail back to one of the bedroom I'm guessing.
Hmm, he likes Claire.
It's just Isaac, Jenny and me now. Should I talk to Isaac about it? We aren't that close. I doubt he'd talk to me about it even if he does like Claire.
"Hey Isaac. Can I ask you something?" I decide to go through with it.
"Yeah sure" he says looking at me but I can still see the frown he doesn't know he's wearing.
"Do you like her? Claire, I mean" I ask him. It's none of my business. I think to myself. But if he's upset about it, he should talk about it.
His eyes get wide and he opens his mouth to say something but closes it instantly. That's an answer.
"Of course he does" Jenny says from beside me. She was talking to someone on the phone before so I though she wasn't listening.
Isaac looks at Jenny and then back at me.
"I don't" he inhales sharply.
"You're in denial" Jenny says and continues "who do you think you're kidding? Everyone knows. Heck, Felicity has been here for one week and she knows. We just never talked to you about it because there were more important things going on at that point of time" she looks at him.
What does she mean by that? Again, none of your business Felicity.
"Okay fine. I'm not in denial. I know I like her. But I also know that she's never gonna like me back. She sees me as her best friend and always will" he explains and continues when he sees that Jenna starts to say something "and don't convince me otherwise because I know her better than anyone else"
"Can I say something?" I ask Isaac.
He looks at me, sighs and says "yeah"
"Have you watched Brooklyn 99?" I ask.
"What? What does that have to do with anything?" he questions.
"Just answer her damn questions Isaac" Jenny says gulping down a drink.
He sighs frustratingly again.
"Yes, I have" he replies calmly.
"Then do you remember what Rosa said to Jake when he told her that he still likes Amy? If you want her to choose you, you gotta let her know that you are on option" I say and he gives me a look that says he's getting what I'm saying so I continue "look, I know you're probably worried about ruining your friendship and frankly it may happen. But she's your best friend. If there's anyone you have to take a leap of faith for, it should be her. At least you'll be glad that you gave yourself a chance. Don't be nervous" I smile at him.
He looks at me for a few seconds and breaks out a little smile.
"Alright. But this doesn't mean I'm gonna tell her right away. I'll think about it" he says.
"Damn girl, you're good at this" Jenny says while swinging her arm over my shoulder.
"Good at what?" I hear Felix's voice so I look up and he takes a seat beside Isaac and once again, in front of me. Why does he do that? Why does he always sit directly across from me.
"Nothing" Isaac says quicky.
"Hey, you were on the dance floor right? Have you seen Summer anywhere?" I ask him looking around for her.
"Yeah, she was going to the bathroom. She said she'll meet us here later" he tells me.
"Oh okay, alright" I sink back in the sofa after hearing that.
"Why are you guys sitting here like idiots? This is a party, come on dance with us!" Jamie - the soccer guy says from behind Felix.
Felix takes a look at all of us and realising that none of us wanna dance he says to Jamie "Na, thanks Jamie we're alright"
"I'm backkk" Summer says and sits beside me. I smile at her. She swings an arm around my shoulder too.
"You guys look beautiful, here let me take a picture" Isaac says.
"Take my phone" Jenny says and gives him her phone.
Jenny, Summer and I smile at the camera. We laugh once the picture is taken and my eyes fall on the grey ones that I haven't been able to get off of my mind since I've seen them. He's already looking at me.
I don't realise how long we've been staring but I break the eye contact when I hear Fran's voice.
"Are you guys literally just gonna stay here? Come on, let's play something" Fran says to all of us and sits beside Isaac putting Isaac in between Felix and Fran.
"Sure. Lets's play never have I ever" Felix says looking directly at me and smirking. No, this is not gonna end good.
"I don't drink" I say quickly making up an excuse to get out of this. It wasn't a lie anyways.
"Chill precious, I'll bring you a soda" Felix says. Still smirking by the way.
"Ugh, precious? Come on, Fel" Jenny says to Felix and then continues "but he's got a point City. You and Francis can have a soda. And don't say you have to get home because you didn't bring a car so you can't leave until your brother leaves and it was his idea to play so you gotta stay. Wow, I'm rhyming now?"
I look at Fran with threatening eyes. He gives me a look that says sorry and then gives me look that says it's okay.
I don't want any unwanted information to come out of our mouths. But we won't be drunk so we can control what we say. I sigh.
"Fine"
"Ah, great. I'll bring refills for everyone and a soda for you both" Isaac says and leaves.
I look at Felix and he's still smirking.
What have I gotten myself into?
