Felix's POV
"It never is" she says and smiles at me. And it does something to me from the inside. I just don't know what.
She's still looking at me and then after a few seconds she gets out of the trance which makes me get out of the trance. She clears her throat and says "we should take the drinks and go"
Yeah, we should go.

I'm putting my phone on the nightstand and getting ready to sleep when I hear the door creaking. I look upto see Sam standing their with his pillow.
We went all went home after having a few more drinks. No one wanted to dance today. Felicity and Francis dropped Summer off. I dropped off Jenny and Claire was supposedly with some college guy so she didn't leave when we were leaving.
"Hey buddy. Do you need anything?" I ask him. It's late. He shouldn't be up.
"I can't sleep. Can I sleep with you tonight?" he asks nervously and slightly scared of how I may react. I may have given him the impression that I don't like him when he first came here. But that's only because of Frank. I like Sam.
"Sure. Come in" I say and make room for him on the bed.
He creeps in my blanket and snuggles against his pillow. Why can't he sleep though? Is he having bad dreams? Am I supposed to ask him that? I don't know how to do this whole big brother thing. So I decide to change the topic.
"So, did you have a goot time with Felicity's sister today?" I ask him.
"Yes. I had a lot of fun. Her mom made us waffles and they tasted exactly like mom's" he says sadly. Ah, I see what's going on now.
Frank and his ex-wife divorced each other after she got a job offer from a cancer care NGO in India but Frank didn't wanna move there so they started fighting a lot and finally left each other.
"Do you miss her? Your mom?" I ask him.
"So much. She used to make me waffles, frech toasts, truffles and everything I love. She used to ask me everyday how my school was and she used to watch movies with me. I shouldn't say this to you but Melissa doesn't do that" he says looking down at his blanket.
I laugh a little. "It's okay buddy. I can make pretty good french toasts. And I can watch movies with you. I know I'm not your mom but you know what I do when I miss my dad?"
"What?" he asks this time looking at me.
"I think of all the good times I had with him. Like you just told me about all the things that your mom would do for you. So you just think about that and smile that you spent all that happy time with her and then you be grateful for what you have right now in this time, this place" I say to him and snuggle him closer to me.
"And I think she really misses you too. I've seen her video call Frank all the time asking about you" I add knowing it's not true. I really feel bad for this kid. No one at is age should have to go through this.
"Really?" he asks.
"Really" I smile at him thanking god that he's not old enough to question the things I tell him. "Now go to sleep before your dad comes in here and scolds you. It's sunday tomorrow. Maybe I'll make you waffles and french toasts for breakfast and surprise you" I tuck him in and laugh.
He laughs and closes his eyes and I switch off the lights.

Felicity's POV
I wake up in a very happy mood today. It's a sunday and we can all spend time together as a family. That's not the reason I'm happy but I've decided that I'll let myself go with it today.
I get downstairs to have breakfast and see that Fran isn't up yet. Nity is having lucky charms and mom and dad are just having coffee.
"Good morning" I say to everyone while giving Nity a kiss on her head.
"Good morning" they all say simultaneously. "Coffee?" mom asks.
"Yes please" I say checking my phone. It's just the messages in the group chat. Everyone is talking about the party last night. Claire still hasn't joined the conversation. So I guess she's still with Nathan. I wonder how Isaac's feeling.
"Good morning guys" Fran says as he walks down the stairs and rubs his eyes.
"Good morning" we all say as mom starts pouring him coffee as well when the doorbell rings. Everyone's eating so I say "I'll get it"
I walk over to the door, open it and I see a woman in her mid-thirties standing there with a basket in her hand. She just looks at me for a few seconds.
"Hi, can I help you?" I ask her.
"Oh, I'm sorry" she says and then extends her hand for me to shake and continues "I'm Viola Rodrigues. I'm Aspen's mother. She told me that she was babysitting your sister last week so I just thought I'll welcome our new neighbours with my world famous pie" and lifts her basket to show me.
"Oh, your Aspen's mom. Sure, come in come in" I say and move so that she can come inside and close the door behind her.
"Guys, this is Aspen's mother" I say as we near the dining table. Fran and Nity acknowledge her but I can see that my parents are confused so I explain.
"Aspen is the girl who looked after Affinity the other day when you guys were busy and me and Fran wanted to go out with our friends. She lives right in front of us. Her mom is here to welcome us in the neighbourhood"
My mom gives me a sour look at the mention of me going out with friends but then changes her reaction quickly and gets up and says "Oh sure sure. I'm Genevieve and this is my husband Arthur"
The three of them exchange pleasentaries and then my dad turns towards me and says "didn't you have homework that you needed to submit tomorrow?" indicating me that I need to get out of here. I even turn around to leave but Mrs Rodrigues' voice stops me.
"Oh, um if you don't mind I want all three of them to have this pie. They were all so nice to my Aspen. She told me" she says and smiles at me.
I smile back and then smile at mom. Guess they can't hide me from everyone.
"And plus, we already completed our homework before going to the party yesterday dad" Fran says putting an arm around my shoulder and smiling sarcastically at dad. Mom and dad both give us a look that clearly says they'll deal with us later.
"So Viola, tell me about your family" mom starts a conversation and they take it in the living room.
