Gale Riley was now at the peak of her livelihood, with a thick head of dark hair and alluring eyes she was still regarded as the most stunning woman in Woodsboro. Having written several best sellers and helped produce the first Stab movie based on her life, she was living the high life. But yet a part of her struggled with letting go of the past, she wanted to go back to when she was the hot shot news reporter covering the Woodsboro Massacres. That's when she felt most alive and successful. Those years of her life were perfect and amazing, they gave her a reason to go on and as the years themselves went on she realized that time wasn't on her side. Gale Weathers died when she became Gale Riley, wife of the now Sheriff of Woodsboro. She loved Dewey, and she'd continue to love him until her heart stopped beating. That's why when they gave birth to a daughter, she allowed Dewey to name her after his late sister, Tatum. Dewey wept when she was born, and Gale remembered the way he looked at his daughter and smiled through his tears. That's when Gale knew he was the perfect husband and perfect father.

Gale sat in front of her computer in her office, hot beams of sunlight came in through the large windows and rested against her body as she tucked her long brunette hair (once black) behind her ear. She adjusted her glasses and looked at the screen. She was reading a review on her previously released ground-breaking novel about the previous murders in Woodsboro involving Jill Roberts, young and self-obsessed psychopath that walked the walls of Woodsboro High selecting her next victim to replay the first killing from 25 years ago.

The readers loved it. They wanted more and more, and Gale wanted to give it to them, as she opened a new document to begin typing on, she came to the conclusion and rather horrifying fact that she wasn't aware of what she wanted to write. That frightened her as she looked down at the keyboard where her fingers were placed on the keys ready to fish out a wonderful story. Yet her brain didn't deliver. Her eyes grazed over the bookcase where a book faced her, she sighed and closed the document.

Gale didn't turn away from the book, instead she became devoted and reached out and grabbed it and ran her hands over the black cover. She smiled at the image of her friend, she opened the cover and went to the first page and put her glasses back on and prepared herself, but the office door came flying open and her ten-year-old daughter came running in. Gale smiled and opened her arms as she jumped up into them.

"Good morning, sweetie!" Gale cooed as she swayed her daughter from side to side.

Tatum smiled happily and Gale put her down, stood up and grabbed her hand and walked out of the office and into the hallway. She closed the door behind her and walked into the kitchen where she discovered her husband gone, shocking early also. She looked for a note but when she didn't find one, she sighed and started preparing breakfast for herself and Tatum.

"The neighbour found them like this the morning, Sheriff" Deputy Judy answered Sheriff Riley as they trekked into the scene and studied throughout the room. Sheriff Riley stared up from where he had stalled and examined the body of Kasey, her skin was a shade of evaporated yellow. Her eyes were far-reaching and lifeless, her lips separated with dried blood flooded in the rear of her throat. "They say they didn't hear anything last night, but when he noticed the dog in the yard the husband came over to have a look to make sure everyone was okay" she added, a frown present on her face as a bright camera flash lit up the corner of the room.

Kasey had a thick rope knot around her throat that was strung up to the ceiling fan. Her body was still, no motion present. Nobody dared touch her in case the rope snapped, and she dropped into the scene under. Her body was littered with stab wounds, blood was sprayed across her body. Sheriff Riley turned to the forensics team as they took another photo.

"Jesus" he said softly to himself, but loudly enough for Deputy Judy to hear. "God I'm praying it's not starting up again".

Judy nodded and turned and had Sheriff Riley follow her.

"What's her name?" he asked as they walked into the kitchen to where the fridge was wide open, a forensic officer was taking a photo of inside the fridge.

"Her name is Kasey Millard. Seventeen", she answered as the officer stepped away and allowed the Sheriff to walk over and see what was inside. "The other girl is Vienna Walker, it's her house. Her parents are away for the weekend. We are trying to call them now".

Sheriff Riley looked into the fridge then turned away and closed his eyes.

In the fridge on a meat platter was Vienna's head. Her eyes were torn open, dried blood was around her now cold white eyes and her lips were cracked and bloodied. Her neck was sliced powerfully and unevenly, ligaments hung from the lose skin below. Her hair was slicked back, blood had been pushed into her scalp.

He opened his eyes and looked across the room and that's when he lowered his head, and then walked over and crossed his arms. Judy looked up at the writing in blood on the wall and then sighed loudly, turned to Sheriff Riley and rubbed his shoulder supportively.

Sheriff Riley spoke, his voice was soft and full of fear. But also, confident and strong. "What's your favourite scary movie?"

"This can't be happening again", Sheriff Riley said.

Judy nodded. "We won't let it".

"What was the murder weapon?", Sheriff Riley asked Judy. He knew what the answer already was, but he hoped it wasn't the blade that he was so familiar with.

"It was a big blade" Judy said as she looked over some notes. "It wasn't a kitchen knife. It was more like a-"

"Hunting knife" Sheriff Riley finished.

She nodded. "Yes, I'm sorry Sheriff".

Sheriff Riley looked down. Everything was starting again.

"I know Sidney is coming back to Woodsboro for her campaign tour" Deputy Judy began, "do I call and tell her agent not to allow her to come?"

Sheriff Riley looked at her. "I'll call her myself and tell her, see what she thinks is best".

"Surely she won't want to be here".

"Sidney is strong, she's a fighter. If she can stop this she will" Sheriff Riley said before turning and walking back out to where Kasey's body was hanging. He looked up at her with a sad expression. "Get her down, she's just a kid" he said and the officers on the scene nodded and hurried to get her down from she was hanging.
