Laura and her mother were nervous to return to their house. But Deputy Hicks reassured them that nobody was in the house and that it had been searched from top to bottom only to find that it was empty. Deputy Hicks searched the entire house from top to bottom before settling the family back inside. It took them a while, but they soon went back to sleep.

Getting up the next day for school was hard. Laura's eyes opened and there she laid in her bed with her eyes glued to the ceiling above her. Her mother knocked on her door and she rolled onto her side as it opened. She frowned at her daughter and entered the room.

"What?" Laura asked coldly from her bed. "Leave me alone".

Her mother frowned deeply. "What's wrong?"

Laura rolled her eyes. "I had the killer call me last night and wind me up!"

"It didn't work!" She replied loudly.

"Oh didn't it? I was taken away in a police car and had my things searched!"

Her mother sighed and sat down on the end of her bed. Laura sighed again and closed her eyes and chucked her head back into the pillow, her mother rubbed her leg softly and smiled at her.

"Do you want to go to school?"

"Yes, otherwise I'm going to sit in here and go crazy and I don't want to deal with that shit right now" Laura spat.

"Language!"

"At this point I think it's okay if I swear a little".

Her mother held back her response but sighed and nodded. "I'll help you pick out an outfit for school, then" she stood up and walked to her closet and opened it. Laura watched closely as she done so, she expected Ghostface to sweep out and swallow her, but it didn't happen. "What colour shirt do you want?"

"He taunted me with Steph" Laura confessed quietly.

Her mother spun around and looked at her with a frown. "What?"

"Yeah. He told me that she was weak".

Her mother rubbed the bridge of her nose and closed her eyes. "How dare he".

"Does that mean the killer is in my life already?" she asked cautiously. "I didn't tell the police that he spoke about Steph".

"Stephanie was a good girl. She wasn't weak...she just struggled" her mother spat before turning away from her again. "Why didn't you tell the police?"

"I- I don't know".

"The police need that information!"

"I didn't know what else to tell them!"

Her mother scoffed. "You told them you thought it was Toby on the call, and who is Toby?"

"Toby White, he is in my grade" Laura replied.

Smirking and then exhaling sharply. "Why did you think it was him?"

"Because every year he organises the Stab-Athon" she said quietly. "He likes this stuff so I thought that it might have been him", she lowered her head in shame. She felt bad for throwing his name out there.

"Get dressed for school, I'll see you downstairs" she said before storming out. Laura sighed and rolled back down onto the bed and groaned loudly before complying with her mother's wishes and getting ready.

The first wave of reporters struck Laura as she climbed from Wade's car, she looked around to try and find a way out of their circle, but she just pushed onwards. Camera's flashed and microphones were shoved towards her as she tried to move away from them.

"What did the killer say when he called you?"

"Who is next?"

"What did he want?"

"Did he say he was going to kill you?"

She hurried past towards the front steps. That had no authority to be in the school so when she saw the large front doors she smiled with happiness. Wade was behind her helping her get to the steps, he glanced to the side and there he saw Clancy with a microphone shoved at her. She smiled at him and he sent her a disarming look which made her frown. Clancy stood back while the crowd continued to move after Laura who hurried inside only to be met by Toby White.

"Oh, Toby. Hi" she said as she adjusted her backpack. Heads turned and watched as the two began to talk. Amongst the crowd was Emily. She watched with a worried face.

"Why did you tell the police you think I called you?" He hissed.

She stuttered. "I- I don't know! I freaked out and I know you like horror movies so-"

"-So, you think I brutally killed some teenagers because of it!?" He yelled, his voice booming down the hall.

"I didn't say that" she said softly.

"Really? Because it sure seems like you're implying it" he said harshly, she started to step back and he stepped closer. Soon she was pressed against the tiled wall with a horrified look on her face. Her ponytail was coming loose from being pressed against the wall. "I have had the police searching my house and tracing my phone records all night because you freaked out and said that you thought it was me".

"I'm sorry, I really am".

"I don't believe that!"

Emily stepped up and got between them. "She said she was sorry, Toby. Back off".

With Emily between them, Toby snarled and looked down on Laura and shook his head before turning and storming off. Laura's eyes dwelled with tears and Emily turned and wrapped her hands around her shoulders and guided her through the crowd towards the girl's bathrooms. They walked inside and Emily turned to the two girls at the mirrors.

"Out now".

They looked at each other.

"Do I need to repeat myself? Out!" She said loudly and they rolled their eyes and walked out and Laura leant against the counter and closed her eyes and rubbed her forehead softly as tears rolled down her cheeks. "Are you okay?"

She nodded softly which made Emily chuckle.

"No, you're not. It's okay. Let's just get you cleaned up".

Laura smiled and turned and looked into the mirror. She took her bag off, placed it on the floor and inhaled and then exhaled deeply and then smiled, her bottom lip continued to wobble but she gained control of it.
