Gale and Dewey scrambled to help Sidney; the smoke twirled across the room as the fire alarm continued to sound from all around them. Gale grabbed onto the concrete and tried to lift it, it shifted but it wasn't enough to get Sidney free. Dewey called into his walkie-talkie in hopes Deputy Hicks would be able to hear him over the alarm. The water continued to fall above them which contained the flames from the administrations room. Sidney cried out and clawed at the concrete, her eyes were tight with tears streaming down her cheeks. The pain was nearly unbearable.
"Dewey, get this off me!" She yelled.
Sirens could be heard in the distance approaching quickly. Dewey lifted his head and looked around, children screaming in the distant halls was loud and clear. He looked back at Sidney. "Help is coming, Sid".
Gale squeezed her hand tightly.
"There almost here" he said.
Wade and Richmond were caught up in the crowd that was trying to escape the school. Wade got swept up in a wave of students and separated from Richmond who was left looking around aimlessly trying to figure out what was going on. Water showered down from the roof and the alarm finally died off. As he ran down the hallway in front of him. As he ran water splashed up, the sprinklers dried up and stopped showering leaving Richmond standing in a few inches of water as the school cleared out. He heard the scream of pain from Sidney and ran towards the source.
Jumping out from the darkness of a cleared-out classroom came Ghostface. Richmond screamed and slid back, he lost his footing and crashed into the floor below with a thud. He cried out; a sharp pain rocked his arm. Ghostface towered over him. Richmond screamed out as loudly as he could, and Ghostface stopped for a second when he heard footsteps approaching. He turned and took off down the hall. Richmond turned and scurried into the corner as Deputy Hicks reached him.
"He went that way!" He pointed down the hallway and she nodded and ran off, she sent out a call to all available officers that she was pursing the attacker on foot. Richmond scrambled to his feet and began running in the direction that Deputy Hicks came from, he rounded the corner then rounded another and there he found Dewey, Gale and Sidney who was screaming in agony.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Dewey asked as he looked up at him.
With his hair draped across his forehead and his eyes glistening with tears he told them of how Ghostface was in the school and that he was being chased. He hurried over and helped with lifting the slab of concrete, Sidney tried to pull herself free. She managed to drag herself out but dropped down in pain. The concrete crashed against the floor. Dewey inspected her leg.
"I- I don't think it's broken but you need a hospital bad" he said.
She nodded and gritted her teeth in pain.
Wade came running down the hallway suddenly. They turned and looked at him.
"Jesus Christ what happened?"
Gale called out for the paramedics as they entered the building, they pointed them out and came running. Gale hurried off to meet them and explain what happened, and Dewey sat there with Sidney watching these two boys questioning them in his mind. Who are they? Innocent high school students or the next Billy and Stu?
Laura sat at the end of her bed with a blanket wrapped around her lower half, she had tears down her cheeks and was holding her teddy bear from when she was child close to herself when her mother knocked on the door and opened it without a response. She sniffled and looked up.
"Honey, I'm so sorry" she said softly as she walked in and sat beside her. "Is there anything-"
"No", she replied coldly. "There isn't".
"We can talk about it. It's not easy losing a friend".
Laura scuffed loudly and stood up; the blanket fell from her body as she turned to her mother with anger flashed in her eyes. "How the hell would you know?" she said. "My friend has been murdered, I have a serial killer after me and my life is falling apart!"
Her mother was taken back by her outburst but didn't say anything.
Laura began to sob uncontrollably as she dropped to her knees in the middle of her room. Her mother dropped down and grabbed her tightly and held her close before her sister came into the room, she looked down at her and with eyes full of worry fought back the tears as she broke down in front of her. Stephanie and her mother looked at each other in anger, their emotions nearly took over, but they thought it back and tended to Laura.
