Dewey ran alongside Sidney as she was carried out on a stretcher. Ambulances and Police cars were scattered across the carpark, sirens were loud, and students were screaming as parents arrived to collect them and make sure they were okay. As Sidney was loaded onto the ambulance with Gale, Dewey turned and looked across the carpark. Students were everywhere, there was no way he'd be able to track who came and went and at what time. He turned back to them.
"Stay by her side, okay?"
Gale nodded and squeezed his hand and then released and watched Dewey step back and hurry off to help. Gale watched; a small smile crawled across her lips as she watched him go. The ambulance began driving and Gale turned to Sidney.
"You're going to be okay, trust me!" Sidney nodded softly; her eyes were half shut as they administered some heavy pain killers for her leg. They left the parking lot of the school and drove across town. The sirens on the ambulance were so loud above them as they drove. Gale continued to squeeze her hand until she passed out peacefully. "You'll be fine".
Dewey waved down Deputy Hicks as she made her way through the crowd. They reached each other and Dewey spoke up, "did you find anything?"
"No. He got away from me" replied Deputy Hicks. "Lost him in the crowds".
Dewey groaned and turned away. "Damn. Okay, I want all of today's footage from the security feed looked over. We need to find this son of a bitch!"
