Chapter 14

FYA - Event

"Would you stop being so fucking close? Put a bit of a distance!" I irritatingly said at him.

He just frown at me and I heard Sol chuckled not far from us.

I already picked and bought a dress for the event. And now, we were just roaming around for an hour. At ang nakakainis pa ay panay dikit sa akin si Asa, he wasn't even hiding his shameful face after putting an action on me when he was sick. I was so uncomfortable when it was just the two of us a while ago, he just kept on staring and then would randomly say things that would make this stupid heart of mine to go beating rapidly.

Hindi ko na siya kinompronta kung ano man ang pumasok sa isip niya para gawin iyon o sabihin sa akin iyon, nagkunwari na lamang akong hindi maalala iyon. Bahala siya sa buhay niya.

"Asa, come check this out," Sol called out for him.

Sandaling tinignan naman niya ako at ako naman ay inirapan siya bago niya lapitan si Sol.

"Get a grip, Afia," I whispered to myself as I looked on the barrettes in front of me.

When I saw a simple yet elegant design that would go perfectly with the dress that I got, I slowly reached out for it when another hand held it as well.

"I got it first," anito at binalingan ako ng tingin.

Napataas naman ang isa kong kilay. "Yeah, that's why I'm the one holding it."

Hindi ako nakarinig ng sagot mula sa kanya at nang tinignan ko siya ay nagtaka na lamang ako dahil parang natulala siyang nakatingin sa akin.

"Is there a problem here?" I heard a low voice from behind that made me immediately rolled my eyes. He's already back?

"Mind letting go of my hand?" I said which made him snapped back into his senses.

Napakagat siya sa kanyang labi at agad binitawan ang kamay ko. "Sorry about that."

"Didn't know you fancy girl stuff now, Cypres," pang-aasar ni Asa rito.

Nakita ko naman ang sandaling pagkagulat nito dahil sa pagsulpot ng isang gago sa tabi ko. Huh. So, magkakilala sila. Hindi ko na lamang pinansin si Asa at diretso lamang akong nakatingin doon sa barrette na kukunin ko sana.

"It's for a gift you asshole," naiinis na sinabi nito dahil sa pang-aasar kanina ni Asa sa kanya.

Lihim naman akong napangiti. I like his quick insight. "You can have the barrette if it's for a gift. Wala rin naman magandang dahilan para kunin ko ito, it's only for some useless event anyway."

Gulat silang dalawang hinarap ako. The Cypres guy was looking at me with amusement in his look, while Asa was looking at me in disbelief. Tinaasan ko lamang siya ng kilay at naglakad paalis sa kanila para lapitan na lamang si Sol. I let him off argue like a spoiled brat there with that guy.

"What are you grinning at, Sol?" Kunot noong tanong ko sa kanya nang malapitan ko siya.

He shrugged off his shoulders, still not removing the grin from his lips. "Someone's jealous."

Napailing-iling na lamang ako sa kanyang sinabi at tinapos na rin ang pakay namin doon. It was an annoying time, really. I really don't know what to feel towards Asa. He was still an asshole, there is no doubt about that, but the fact that he his suddenly so clingy to me, gives me the chills. It was not like him! And he started to act all close to me ever since that scene in his room!
