Chapter XVI

"You should rest Y/N." Levi spoke as he gives her a small biscuit and a bottle of water. Soldiers are on the top of the wall investigating the situation, and to rescue Ymir's body. The tension is now gone since the Titans are finally out to be seen, even the monkey who is the main suspect to why the Titans had gathered inside the wall.

"That is only from the ration, don't expect too much with that."

"I am not hungry at all."

"Excuse me? You have been worked out here killing Titans and you're telling me that you are not hungry? For fuck's sake Y/N eat that. Now."

Levi's command is useless. Y/N shakes her head and turn her face to the other direction avoiding Levi's frowning face. He clicked his tongue annoyingly but Y/n isn't affected to his intimidating attitude at all.

"I assume you just don't like this. What do you want? I'll go get it."

"Really? Can you give me some alcohol to drink then-ouch!"

Levi flickered her forehead with force not feeling sorry for it. His eyes glares at her like a mother who is disciplining a disobedient child. Y/N pouts as she massage her aching forehead.

"I'm not hungry Levi, really. Talk to my tummy for you to believe." Said Y/N drawing circles at her stomach, trying to change the mood.

"Tch whatever. I'll leave this here. I have to talk with Hange, don't do anything stupid." Said Levi and left her peacefully.

Y/N lay her back down in the floor staring at the not so clear sky reminiscing about the past events that are stuck in her mind for years. Everything seemed happened too fast for her liking, everything is getting complicated as time continuous to move on. Since now that she's here and doing a real mission, reality is hitting her day by day. It is indeed wonderful to live in the surface, which was the dreamed she wanted to pursue back then. But now that she is finally here, she realizes that life above the ground is not easy too.

In the underground, all she can see is darkness and it is hard to make a living. She is covered all over with a cloth just to mask herself from the other people. Flying everywhere with the gear she don't even know where it came from, she is soaring at the highest point of the underground just to get something she can put in her mouth. Yes it's hard to live in the underground and she thought, to live in the surface can make her life easier.

Now that she is finally at the land with so much sunlight, she realizes that what she always think is wrong. Anytime, Titans could destroy their life here without effort. It will devour them with lust in their eyes and all they could do is to run if they're not belong from the three regiments who can protect themselves.

Survival is present for both the underground and in the surface. The only difference is that below, it's hard to find something to eat especially when you're fortuneless. While above, it is easy to be eaten no matter what position you are in, whether you are rich or not. It's not easy to live wherever you are.

Even so, she never fail to enjoy herself and make her life easier. In the past, although she can't remember, Y/N is certain that she was happy. She has friends, Isabel, Farlan and Levi. Every dreams and memories she have with those trio never disappoint her, she have been happy with them back in the underground. And after the biggest incident in her life happened, she met June and Aiden. She became friends with them and soon treated one another as a family. Also, she met Callie. Their moments together was short but every memories they had gave Y/N a great impact which she is embracing until now, their friendship isn't really over.
