Chapter XXIII

Scouts are on their way to another mission. It was the expedition they are talking about when they are preparing, but no, this is not just an ordinary venture. This time, they have a mission where offing of some inhabitants are depending on it. They are going to retrieve the lost land of the many. 'Operation to Retake the Wall Maria' as what they call.

They are travelling at night where most of the Titans can't move and are sleeping. We could say that they are fully prepared this time. Taking theories or other possible things to consider. Plans are well organized, weapons are advanced, and even they might feel a huge amount of weight or be burdened, they ended up bringing more usable weapons which they think it will be a help if something happens not in line with their original formations and plans.

With the new invention of the brainy squad leader, they had accomplished another defensive and destructive armament. Hange devised a technology which is mainly designed for the Armored Titan. They named it 'Thunder Spear' because of its shape and sound. In case that said Titan appears, they are ready and will deal with it without having a huge difficulties.

It is dark in their way considering that the hours of their trip is set at this time. They had journeyed long now actually and it is almost close to sunrise. And in fortunate, soldiers are not still tired as if they had conserved so much and more energy for this mission that even if the long journey they had to take, they are fit to a full extent. Though some of them are really nervous.

As they walk, one of them tripped and dropped the light which the person is holding. "Oi use that light for you to see what you are walking into tch." Levi scolded. The soldier apologised immediately and calmed his horse down.

"We are not at the foot yet, it's almost dawn." Said Levi impatiently.

"I think we are almost at the place Levi. Once we are over this mountain Shiganshina is right there." Answered Y/N who is clinging close to Levi. He leaned his head to Y/N's forehead and kisses it.

"Are you nervous? This is your first going out the walls and it happened to be a big responsibility." He asked intertwining his hand to hers.

"Of course I have this feeling of fear. But majority of what I felt is eagerness. I want us to succeed this mission without so much casualties and go home already."

"Too bad we are still going on our way. We haven't reached the foot yet."

"When we arrived back home, let's prepare a meal and have a date at our secret meeting place in the Training Corps, hmm?"

"Sounds pretty good. So make sure to stay alive."

She giggles and teased Levi along the way. In their long time walk, murmurs of them are mostly heard. Giggles, whining, soft whispers and such. Hange is eavesdropping and painted a wide grin in her lips as she get closer and closer to the couple ahead of her.

Then someone shouted in panic and in horror. "Titan on the left! Everyone halt!"

Everyone moved away from the Titan being lighted. It is sound asleep and was not bothered by their sudden loud presence, Hange walked in its way and observed it. She sighed in relief looking in the Titan with soft excitement.

"It's alright. He is fast asleep. This lad must be the one of those that must not be one of those new types that moves at night. That's too bad. Let him be." Said Hange calming them down which they did eventually.

Another couple of minutes had passed and everyone is getting hopeful to reach their targeted destination in no time. Feelings of familiarity are now running through Eren, Mikasa and Armin's form. A sign that they are near from their old hometown.
