Forget Me Not (Levi Ackerman x Reader)

Special Chapter: 3

[Note: This is the scene after Levi pranked Y/N about the family she left. When Y/N is determined to kill Levi while Petra is trying to stop her.]

Y/N made her way into Levi's office, still mad at what he did earlier. The anger she felt is hunting her so she couldn't sleep. But as she walk through the empty corridor on her way to his place, she couldn't understand the excitement and comfort lingering in her feelings. She questions herself if it is the rain since this is her first time seeing and hearing it.

"Yeah maybe it's just the rain."

As soon as she saw the room he instructed earlier, she fasten her pace ready to confront him again. She was about to knock but then again she wants to annoy him, her hands directed to the door knob instead.

"Huh? It's locked? Where is he?"

Her eyes stares at the knob for a long second, now disappointment replacing the mixed emotions she has inside. She couldn't understand what's wrong with herself. Before, she's angry? Excited? Now what? Disappointed as if she wants to see him badly. Ah, she's lonely. There's no one in here who really knows her besides Levi, and even she hates the intimate actions he did with her, she still wants to see him.

(She's still uncertain about Isabel and Farlan at this point.)

"He wouldn't do that for nothing right? He said we have been together for so long, and that means we are close-" She immediately closed her mouth as she realizes something. Her eyes were big as if she has seen a ghost. "Are we lovers? Because if we are then I shouldn't treat him like this. I mean he shouldn't be romantic towards me if we're not together right?"

"Why are you talking to yourself? It's midnight Y/N why are you still up?"

He didn't expect to see her at this hour, as well as to see her here in front of his office. He looked at the cup he's holding, freshly brewed black tea, then back to the girl in front. "Wait me inside, I'll get another cup for you." Said Levi as he unlocks the door to let her inside.

"But I don't want tea."

"What do you want then?"

He sighed, not in annoyance but a comfort of realization. This girl will not drink black tea late at night, and considering her taste, well black tea would not be the best to offer for her. Levi walked away without saying a word, certain for the choice she always pick. This girl is sweet, he remembered, therefore it's justifiable that her taste is sweet too. Also, she hasn't changed after all, the old Y/N is still the same although she did some changes. What he knows about her is still there and a great reference whenever he's with her.

Milk. Her favorite drink to take every night before going to bed. The one on his daily list when doing their routine for living back in the underground. On the storage room, a sweet bottle of milk is waiting for him, the same brand he always stole from the grumpy merchant below the surface. Where he will run protecting multiple bottles in his hands thinking about the face of the girl who would probably scold him again for exerting so much effort just for her.

There was once a time where he was almost caught, they were still young and only the two of them were together that time. Y/N was worried, she knows how much time he usually takes when stealing, this time he's late for about two hours. She was very worried while Levi is not bothered at all. Hours earlier, on his way back to their small home of protection,  he passed by a stall where bottles with white liquid are all displayed. He remembered that these past few days, she can't sleep with ease. "Maybe that one will help her get over with stress in sleep."

She loved the taste of the new drink he introduced to her. Starting that day, he would always take his time to get the best milk she adored.

How good is this night is for him as he suddenly reminisces his past, it's comforting especially now that she's now here. Eager to see and talk to her again, he immediately bring the milk and stole a box of cookies he didn't even know where it came from.

Maybe Erwin is generous today.

As he gets back in his office, Y/N is patiently waiting on the couch, lying comfortably hugging one of his pillows. And when she saw him enters the room, she stood and neared him on his office table eyeing what he brought. Like a child, she sat across him and took the milk out of his hands along with the cookies.

"What's this?" She asked.

"Some sort of sweets, try it."

The silence between them is serene. Enough for Levi to focus on his work, at the same time, to feel her presence he longed for so long. Y/N on the other hand is slowly giving the trust for this man, like why not? He seems to care a lot for her after all. And now that she remembers something, a cheeky smile made its way to her face.

"Hey, do you love me?"

"What do you think?"

"I don't know, that's why I'm asking you."

"I'm not gonna tell you. Find that out by yourself."

She frowned as she sees his small smirk. Are you playing with me or what. She thought.

"Levi?"

"Hmm?"

"Can I sleep here tonight? I feel lonely."

Levi smiles at her request. The fierce woman they have captured in the underground has finally tamed.

The patience he got for this woman is very considerate, only her can have that and he is willing to provide it for her. Years without her was dreadful, not knowing if she's doing alright. She suffered so much without his care and support, too painful for him to think about. Now she's here, safe and alive. He will fo anything for her, just to keep her unharmed and secure her at his side.

And although she has forgotten everyone, although she can't remember Levi and who he is in her life, in the end she will go to him to feel the comfort she have been looking over the years. No matter how angry she is, she couldn't keep it for a long time. Because just by looking at him, she could feel how important and valued she is. And that no one can hurt her as long as she's with him.

"And..."

"Don't leave me. I want to see you when I woke up."

"I promise Y/N."

I won't leave you again Y/N, I promise."
