Jaehwa POV
I had to come in early today to discuss my grades with Mr. Yoon. As I walked down the hallway, I felt like someone was following me.
Depending on my pace, the person followed. If I went faster, so did they, if I slowed down, they'd do the same. I wasn't sure what to do, so I ended up running all the way to the teachers' room.
"Mr. Yoon!" I screamed as I ran through the door out of breath.
"Glad to see you too Jaehwa," he said with a look of surprise.
"Why did you want to see me?"
"Sit down first," he said, motioning to the seat in front of him.
I walked over and took a seat nervously.
"Why are you nervous, your grades are perfectly fine," he said with a chuckle.
"Really? Then why'd you call me here?"
"I wanted to ask you if you'd be willing to help organize the annual school event for this year?" he asked in a serious tone.
"Why me?"
"Dowoon is busy so he won't be able to manage, he mentioned that you'd be the next best candidate."
"I don't know..."
"You won't be doing it alone, Kim Seungmin from class 1 will be working with you."
"I don't know who that is, but I guess I'll give it a shot if you have no other options," I said hesitantly.
"Perfect! Thank you, Jaehwa," he said with a smile.
"No problem...can I go now?"
"Don't be so impatient, Seungmin should be here soon. The two of you can meet one another and discuss your ideas in the classroom."
"Ahh, alright.."
"Mr. Yoon?" we turned our attention towards the door to see someone peeking their head in.
"Seungmin! Come in," Mr. Yoon beamed as he gestured for him to come in.
I watched as a very shy looking guy walked in. He's kind of cute not gonna lie, but not as cute as-
"Jaehwa?" Mr. Yoon called my name.
"Y-yes?"
"Are you okay? I was calling your name but you weren't responding," he said, raising an eyebrow.
"I'm fine, I was just lost in thought.."
"Alright, well Seungmin, this is Yoo Jaehwa, and Jaehwa, this is Kim Seungmin," Mr. Yoon said as he introduced us to one another.
We both exchanged greetings and smiled awkwardly.
"You can both head out to the classroom to further discuss ideas about the event. We have quite a lot of time so you'll be seeing each other often from now on," he said while pushing us out the door.
"If you need me, I'll be here. Good luck!" Mr. Yoon said before walking back to his desk.
"Um, so do you want to go to my class or yours?" Seungmin asked nervously.
"Let's go to mine, it's closer," I said, glancing at him.
"Okay, lead the way," he said with a soft smile.
As we walked I wasn't sure what to talk about. He seemed quite unapproachable in a sense.
"By the way, sorry about this morning..."
"This morning?"
"I didn't mean to seem like a creep, I just wanted to go together," he mumbled loud enough for me to hear.
"You're the one who was following me!" I looked at him, shocked.
"I wouldn't call it following, but I guess you could say that," he said with a shrug.
"Wait, you know who I am?"
"No, but I assumed you were the person Mr. Yoon mentioned yesterday."
"I see..well, we're here so let's sit down," I said as I walked over to my seat and motioned for him to sit next to me.
"Alright, so what ideas do you have?" I asked.
"I'm not sure, but I think it would be fun for us to have a photobooth," he said rather excitedly.
"A photobooth?"
"Yes! Think about it, taking pictures for memory and being proud of them. Doesn't it sound cute?" he said, tilting his head and smiling.
I let out a chuckle. I have to admit, he has a really cute smile. He kind of reminds me of Jeongin;cold at first but bubbly after.
"Yeah, it sounds like a good idea, let's write that down," I said as I took out my notebook.
"Anything else?" I asked as I finished writing.
"What would the others like to do? Of course we should have food right?" he asked.
"Definitely. But I don't think Mr. Yoon would like if we just showcase the food, what should we do?"
"Maybe we can set up a game for everyone to play, then they can have as much as they like?"
"That sounds alright, I'll put it down as an option and we can ask Mr. Yoon later."
"I think that's enough for now, we have plenty of time. Should we just talk?" he asked.
"I guess so, what do you want to talk about?" I asked, facing him.
"I just want to get to know you better since we'll be seeing each other more from now on," he said with a smile.
"Hm, well I'm sure we'll get familiar with each other as time passes. What would you like to know at the moment?"
"Umm...do you have any siblings?"
"Nope. You?"
"An older sister."
He seemed to hesitate a bit before following up with another question.
"Who do you usually hang out with?"
"Uh, Eunhee, Hyunjin, and Jeongin. I'm not sure if you know them, but Eunhee's my best friend, Hyunjin's my cousin, and Jeongin's..a childhood friend."
"What about you?" I asked.
"I don't really hang out with anyone in particular..." he said softly.
"What do you mean?"
"Like, the people in my class talk to me but we're more like acquaintances."
"Ahh, I get it."
"Wait, so who do you have lunch with?" I asked with concern.
"It depends. Sometimes I eat alone, and other times my classmates invite me to eat with them."
"Well, I'm not sure how you feel...but if you want to sit somewhere permanently, we always have a place open for you at our table," I said with a smile.
"Really?" he said, looking at me with sparkles in his eyes.
"Of course," I said while letting out a laugh.
"Then...can I join during lunch today?" he asked hesitantly.
"Yeah, it's no big deal," I said with a smile.
"Thank you," he said quietly.
"No problem."
He seems like a nice person.
