Jeongin POV
"I wonder why Mr. Yoon wanted to see Jaehwa so early in the morning," Hyunjin said as we were walking to school.
"I don't know. She said he wanted to talk about her grades, but they're already so good so I don't get it," I shrugged.
"I guess we'll find out when we get there," he said, brushing off the fact that Jaehwa could be lonely right now.
At school
Since we got there early I told Hyunjin I would go to the restroom first and meet him in my classroom.
"Don't worry, I'll keep your girlfriend company," he said with a wink before walking off.
"You're so annoying," I mumbled.
As I walked through the door I saw someone sitting in my seat. What made it worse was that I'd never seen him before.
"This is my seat," I said firmly as I stopped in front of him.
"Ah-my bad, I didn't mean to stay for so long," he said as he hurriedly got up and moved out of the way.
"Thanks," I said as I sat down. He just ruined my mood.
"Hey man chill out, what's wrong with you?" Hyunjin asked.
"Yeah, calm down. He's going to be joining us at lunch from now on, so try to be friends okay?" Jaehwa said with a concerned look.
"Not interested," I said, putting my head down.
"Um, I think I should go then..." the kid said.
"Wait! Let me walk you to your class," Jaehwa said.
Walk him to class? He's not a kid, I'm pretty sure he knows how to get there. Since when were they so close?
"Get up, they're gone," Hyunjin said, poking my arm.
"Who is that guy?" I asked while glaring at the door.
"Oh, stop pouting will you. His name is Kim Seungmin. He's from class 1."
"So what's he doing with Jaehwa?"
"Apparently they're working together for the school event."
"With him! I can't let that happen!" I said as I jumped up.
"Then what are you going to do? It's already been decided and your grades aren't good enough for you to help out anyways," Hyunjin said as he crossed his arms.
"Well, I don't know," I sat down devastated.
"At least be nice to him for Jaehwa's sake, apparently he has no friends and she wants us to get to know him."
"But I don't like him."
"You don't even know him," Hyunjin said in disbelief.
"Well, it doesn't matter. We're rivals now."
"Sureee," Hyunjin said as he rolled his eyes.
"What's taking her so long?" I said impatiently.
"It hasn't even been five minutes, stop thinking about it."
"I can't."
"Guys!" Jaehwa said excitedly as she ran towards us.
"What is it?" Hyunjin asked.
"I got another letter and snacks too!" she said happily as she began to open it after putting the snacks on her desk.
-
Jaehwa,
You might be tired today so here's some bread and banana milk I got this morning. I hope it gives you energy! Have a great day!

"Oooo, looks like they're getting bold," Hyunjin said as he reached for the milk.
"Looks like you are too," Jaehwa said as she smacked his hand away.
"You can have the bread, you need to eat more," she said while handing the bread to him.
"Then why don't you give the milk to me too," he pouted.
"No, I want to have something at least," she said as she opened it and took a sip.
"Meanie."
"Give it back then," she said as she stretched out her hand.
"Haha, I'm just kidding~" he said while hugging the bread.
"That's what I thought," she said before glancing at me.
"You want some?" she asked as she held out the bottle of milk to me.
"I-"
"Nah, he wants some bread," Hyunjin said as he shoved the bread in my mouth.
I glared at him as I chewed on the bread and he laughed.
Lunch
While we were sitting at the table, Jaehwa seemed to be looking for someone.
"What is she looking for?" I whispered to Hyunjin.
"Don't you remember, Seungmin is going to eat with us from now on," he whispered back.
"Ugh, I forgot about that," I said, rolling my eyes.
"Seungmin!" Jaehwa shouted, waving her hand in the air.
I watched as he walked over and sat next to Jaehwa. Even I don't sit there, what makes him think-
"Let me introduce you to everyone," she said.
"You've already met Hyunjin. That's Jeongin, you guys briefly met earlier," she said while gesturing to me.
"Hi, I'm Kim Seungmin, I hope we can be good friends," he said nervously.
"Yang Jeongin..." I said as I continued eating.
"He's not really having a good day," Jaehwa said with an awkward laugh.
"This is my best friend, Eunhee," she said as she moved on.
"Hi! Nice to meet you," Eunhee said while smiling at him.
"Nice to meet you too," he said.
"He's cute," I heard Eunhee whisper to Jaehwa.
I couldn't hear what Jaehwa said, but I hope she doesn't agree.
"What are you guys doing after school today?" Hyunjin asked.
"Nothing, why?" I asked.
"I was wondering if y'all wanted to hang out today. There's a new chicken place that just opened and they even have pizza! I want to go and was wondering if you guys would join me?" He asked.
"Can't, I'm hanging out with Beomgyu today," Eunhee said.
"I'll go if Jaehwa goes," I said.
"Then, I'll go if Seungmin can come," she said looking at Hyunjin.
Why.
"Of course he can if he wants to."
"Will you come?" Jaehwa asked, looking at him.
"S-sure, if that's alright with everyone," he said with a soft smile.
"Definitely," she said.
Definitely not.
