Chapter 041

The Ape Titan

Eric ordered every scouts to follow him. They got their guns ready, loaded with a type of gas that can evaporate a titan without cutting their nape. "Scouts! Charge!" He ordered. They all charged towards the titans, shooting their guns on the level of the titans' head. The first wave of titans was quickly defeated, but there's still a lot to face. The ape titan grabbed a boulder again, crashing it using his brute strength, hurling the pieces on the scouts, causing the debris to crush them all. Luckily, Eric and some of the scouts was safe, but not for long. Smaller titans started running towards their direction, eating the remaining scouts. The ape titan seems to spare Eric, stopping the titans from eating him. The ape titan then crouched down to reach Eric's level, grinning at the site of destroyed and mangled bodies around them. "Tell your comrades to surrender Jiro." The ape titan said. Eric was shocked, seeing a talking titan for the first time. He called his horse, returning back to the walls. The ape titan smiled at the scent of victory. Meanwhile, back to the walls, Lev secretly left them, trying to get his hands on the titan that killed his parents. "I will never forget how you slaughtered my family. I will do the same to you, painfully." He said to himself as he makes a perimeter around the titans. The other scouts loaded their canons with gunpowder and canon balls, firing at every titan that gets closed to the walls. Leone was still out, protected by his tough armor. Hanes and the others are trying to find a way to get him out of the titan. "We can't take him out. His nape is well protected. He planned his fall very well." Conrad said as he looks at the fallen titan's closed eyes. Jiro and Yukan are still on top of the wall, helping Natasha and the others on the canons. They will only use his titan ability if the plan fails. Lev was making a sneaky attack behind the titans, he's still not noticed by them, until the quadruped titan noticed him and signals the ape titan. He smirks upon seeing the titan's face. He fired his wire straight to the other titan's arm, using their movement as his momentum. He takes down every titan near him and the ape titan with ease. When he was near the ape titan's nape, he was grabbed by a titan. He thought to himself that this is the end. He won't get to avenged his family. His loved ones. He closes his eyes as he waits for the titan to eat him, but was shocked when the jaw titan, Rocco, came to aid him. Rocco bit the titan's nape, catching Lev before he hits the ground. "You beast, throw me straight to his head!" He commands. Rocco obeys him and threw him towards the ape titan's head. Rocco then went over to the wall to also help the others. "It's just you and me, you monster." He said as he starts his assault to the titan. Using his blades, he cycloned his way down to the titan's legs, cutting them off clean. "He's moving so fast, I can't catch him." The ape titan said as he tries to grab Lev, but miserably fails. "This is for my family you killed!" Lev screamed as he cuts the ape titan's arm. "I-Is this....the Ackerman Gustav and Leone told me?! Lev?!" The shifter inside the titan said. "He's aiming for my nape!" He was about to cover his nape when Lev slices both of his eyes. "I can't see! Shit, I need to harden fa-" Lev slices his nape open right before he could use his hardening ability. Lev pulled him out of his titan body, throwing him on the ground. Right after he hits the ground, Lev puts his blade on his mouth. "Any last words, punk?" Lev asked. On the other's point of view, they were shocked to see the titans falling one by one. They were also shocked to see Rocco with Eric on his back. "Commander! What are you doing with that traitor?!" Jiro asked as he points at Rocco who just came out of his titan body. "He saved me from the titans chasing me. The ape titan badly wants to get you, Jiro. Where's Lev?" Eric asked. They all looked for the captain but soon realised something. "He's taking on the ape titan himself." Amir said as he points at the falling titan's body. On the other hand, Lev is sticking his blade deeper in the shifter's mouth. "You really are an Ackerman. Just like your ancestor, Levi, you are a heartless beast." The shifter told him. He was about to kill him when the quadruped titan appeared, trying to bite Lev, but luckily escaped. The other titan took the shifter with it, fleeing from the scene. "I almost got him. But why did I hesitate?" He said to himself. He looks at the wall. It looks peaceful on the outside. He said to himself. He called his horse and made his way back to the walls to join the others, and finish off Leone.
