Chapter 054

The Plan

The night has arrived and we are planning on scouting the outside premises of Wall Maxima and Tybrum district. We all went in one group so we won't lose someone. Rocco, Commander Hanes, and Natasha was left to guard the base.

"Scouts! Search around the area!" Captain Lev before leaving us. We did what he told us and I went with Yukan since I was assigned with him.

The whole horse ride was kinda quite since Yukan won't even talk to me. I sighed as I focus on the journey. Eventually, we stopped at a village just outside the district.

"Yukan, it's not safe here." I told him as followed him from behind. He hush me down as we approach a lit campfire at the center of the village.

"Someone's been here. Let's go tell the others." He said before quickly dragging me back to our horses. But due to bad luck, our horses has run off.

"Shit! How are we supposed to return back to the base?" He said in frustration. I tapped my fingers together, trying to think of a solution.

"You can ride me." I told him. He then looked at me with his red face. Did I said something wrong and offensive?

He slowly approaches me before grabbing my collar, pinning me on the wall. He looks pissed but his face is crimson red. Is he.....blushing?

"Y-Yukan. Are you blush-"

"I don't want to hear you speak! Stay quiet until we think of some way to leave this place." After he said that, a rustling was heard behind the bush so we hide in one of the villager's house.

We looked at the window and it was Demian and a hooded girl. I can't quite see her face since it's dark. But she looks like a royalty. Maybe Iriedon's ruler?

"Yes, the king's already dead. I turned him into a titan, remember? You run off as I was trying to get you. But that titan shifter ruined everything and made a random titan eat Leone." Damon said while sitting on the log infront of the fire.

"So that means they have the possesion of six titans now?" The hooded girl said. I looked at Yukan with wide eyes as I tried to remember who that voice belongs to. He also looks shocked so we continue listening to their conversation.

"Well, not exactly. Axel's contained in a crystal. And they are keeping him somewhere inside those walls. We're planning on retrieving him by dawn." Damon said. I leaned my back against the walls as I try to process what I just heard.

"We need to inform captain Lev about this." Yukan whispered as he looks out for the both of us.

"Well, fine. Make sure you retrieve him. We need him as an ally to equal the fight between them. Let's go back now." After that, they left the village and we made our way out of trouble as well. We run and run until we can see the group of Conrad and Amir. We called them over as they have our horses with them.

"Where have you guys been?" Amir asked as he hands the horse back to me. I hop on it before making our way back to the base.

"We discovered something. And it's about them retrieving Axel." Yukan said as we meet up with captain Lev and the others inside the walls.

When we arrived, I quickly rushed towards the captain. I breathe heavily as Amir tries to rub my back.

"Why are you such in a hurry, idiot?" Captain Lev asked. I pointed at him before meeting his gaze.

"Yukan and I found an abandoned village outside the district. We also found Damon and some hooded girl. They are talking about retrieving Axel by dawn." I said. They all gasped before Commander Hanes stood up, adjusting her goggles.

"We must leave this place now and seek a better and safe shelter." She suggested. The others then agreed including me and Yukan.

Captain Lev hesitates for a second before sighing in defeat. That brought a smile on my face.

"Hanes, what's the available district to hide from?" He asked. Commander Hanes then brought out her map, looking for something.

"Well, the capital's destroyed. So is Trouis and Tybrum. But the safest district is the one opposite to this. Valka." She said. Captain Lev then nods before standing up.

"Pack everything up. We'll head towards Valka." He said before going inside the house he is staying in.

"They can't have him. We need him. I need him." I looked over at Amir and he is mumbling stuffs.

"Hey, don't worry. We will protect Axel. For you." I told him before smiling. He gave me a thankful smile before hugging me. I hugged him back before landing my gaze at the still blushing Yukan.
