Tears of a Warrior
"You need to be strong. So that you can protect yourself."
"But father, I'm a grown man now." A young Axel said as he helps his father picks up the logs they gathered.
His father gave him a smile before patting his head. They're about to return back to their house, when a bunch of Iriedian soldiers stopped them. Axel's father put him behind his back to hide him.
"W-What do you want? How can I help you?" His father nervously asked. One guard handed him a letter. A letter that will put his and Axel's life in danger. His father clutches the letter against his chest before speaking.
"Can my son not attend this? He's too young to hold something that can end someone's life." His father pleaded. Axel looks at the guards with fear in his eyes.
"If he can't go to this mandatory training. We will be forced to kill you both. We'll come back here when he turns ten." The head guard said before leaving them alone. His father clutches his hand as he starts to think the possibilities.
"Father, who are those guys?" Axel asked. His father looked at him before smiling. He crouches down to his level, holding both of his shoulders.
"Listen, son. Tomorrow, you'll start training for something big! You want us to live in a big house, right?" His father said. Axel's eyes lits up before nodding. His fagher explains everything, hiding the truth behind those stories.
Two years had passed and Axel's growing and turning into a strong and fierce warrior. He trained with his father and even learned from him.
"Axel, come here." His father called him, causing him to stop his kicking session with a sack.
He went inside their house, surprised to see the same guards that they encountered two years ago. He gave them all a confused look.
"He has grown into a man now. Take him." And with that one command, he saw how a guard knocked his father out and putting on a sack on his head, covering his vision.
"Stop! Let me go!" He starts screaming as he struggles to get the cover off from his head. He only stopped when he was also knocked out cold by one of the guards. The next thing he knew is him waking up inside a giant room full of kids with the same age as him.
He looks around the new environment he is in. He tries to go towards the door, but was stopped with a chain around his ankle. The doors from above them opened, revealing the King of Iriedon. He gave everyone a look before speaking.
"Good day, everyone. Today's the start of your life changing mission. The four strongest individual will get an award. But this award has a curse on it. May the best warrior win." The explanation was not clear in Axel's mind and the next thing he knew is them being given each a gun and a set of ammunition.
He stood still when the sun light hits his face. The view of the battlefield welcoming him. They got all released from the chains, giving them the will to run towards the battlefield. Axel hid behind one of the bunker as the sound of gunshots were heard. He was about to leave his hiding place when someone pointed a gun on his head. He thought that this is his end but remembered his father. He slowly turned around the kid who pointed the gun on his head before using his hand to hand combat skills, eventually killing the other kid with a shot on his head.
The battle royale lasted for almost a day, until a flare was fired up to the sky, signalling the victorious warriors who survived. He walks towards the gates of the wall that surrounds Iriedon, passing all the dead bodies around him. He looks at his bloody hands as he remembered his father again. A hand was put on his shoulder. He looks up to who it was and it was a boy with the same age as him, a long shoulder length hair and blue orbs. He helped him stand up and comforted him. Beside him was two more guys who are also the winners.
The guards led them to a chamber before being injected by a titan serum. The last thing he saw was four individuals tied up. He blacked out after eating the female individual. Even though he became a mindless titan, all he can think off is his father.
