"Billie! Stop ignoring me!" Eden sighed banging on his closed bedroom door.
There was no sign of life in the room as I watched her knock some more leaning on the wall, before she huffed and opened the door kicking it open.
"Billie stop being- oh..."
I followed her in looking around the room over her shoulder to see Billie wasn't even in here. We had been shouting him for ages.
"Where the hell is he?" I asked her.
she turned around squinting her eyes. "I thought he was in here?"
"Maybe he's in the car or something?"
"Why would he be in the car?"
"I don't know... waiting y'know? Maybe that's where he is,"
"Well let's hope so." Eden mumbled as she walked past me. I walked out of Billies room last closing the door as I followed her down the stairs.
She grabbed the last remaining piece of toast from the plate on the kitchen side while I swung my bag on, Eden's already on, and we both headed to the front door.
Eden opened the door, with the corner of the toast in her mouth, as it opened and we walked out as I adjusted my bag strap. I looked up from my bag strap at the drive to see... never mind no Billie. There was no car.
"Where is he?" I asked Eden.
"That little shit has gone with out us!"
"Why would he do that?"
"I don't know... shouldn't I be asking you that?" She turned around looking over at me like I would have any clue why he was suddenly disappearing in the mornings knowing fully he was suppose to be our ride to school. He hadn't told us or warned us we was leaving early. We didn't even hear him go out the front door. He just left.
"Why would I know that?"
"Well you're his girlfriend?"
"Fake girlfriend. But no- I'm just as clueless as you are. When we got back I guess he was being blunt with me," I mentioned questionably as we began to walk up the street, accepting that we would be making our own way to school today.
"Was he being weird with you when you was picking your stuff or dropping it off?" She asked, as I sorta looked around uncomfortably remembering the lie I made.
There's no way that's what had annoyed him right? It was just one white lie. We had told millions of them together to other people. Our whole 'relationship' was a lie. So why would that annoy him? Surely he should understand I can't just come back home and tell his sister I was hanging with him and kissed him right?
"Oh- erm- well no, no he was fine. It was just when we got back," I answered finally.
"Hmm... wonder what his problem is,"
We changed topics after that. Eden began to actually ramble on about some school assignment she had been set that she had no clue what she was doing in. I listened, obviously. But my mind was dangerously floating back to Billie and what ever his problem was. Was it me?
He was weird with me last night. And he leaves early in the morning today. Was he trying to avoid me now all because I lied to his sister?
After a while of chatting and walking together we reached school. Both of us tired and aching. Having to walk up so many hills and turns. It was way easier if Billie just gave us a ride like he normally did but oh well.
We entered the school building making our way through the school corridors as I looked around for Billie. To ask him what was going on.
"Eden, I'm gonna go- I've gotta go see a teacher actually, it's for a project," I lied awkwardly interrupting her conversation with another person I didn't know to well. But I knew she was friends with.
