Mina x Nayeon

We all know that living with anxiety is like being followed by a voice. It knows all your insecurities and uses them against you. It gets to the point when it's the loudest voice in the room, the only one you can hear.

When Mina returned from her hiatus. Everyone, especially Nayeon, greeted her with open arms and assured that she was comfortable and happy at all times.

FLASHBACK

Mina was seeing her personal therapist on a weekly basis to help with her anxiety. Everyone was devastated when their management informed Twice about Mina's struggles and that she would be unable to join them to promote their new song 'Feel Special' due to her mental health.

They can't help but feel bad because they were unaware that one of them was secretly struggling with herself, which disappointed them. They were concerned, especially Nayeon, who was too anxious.

Others may say she's exaggerating, but it wasn't enough for her. She only want to ease Mina's suffering. She, in fact, blames herself. She is constantly worried about her. Nayeon would accompany Mina whenever she went to see her therapist from then on. She made a point of not having any plans that day in order to be there for Mina.

"Mina-yah, Nayeon Unnie will always be here for you, okay? I'm not leaving until you leave through that door." Nayeon reassured her in the gentlest of tones.

"T-Thanks, Unnie." Mina stuttered.

She's been anxiously stuttering often since her anxiety worsened, and she's become quieter than ever.

"We'll just sit outside and wait. Please take your time." Nayeon smiled.

The Japanese girl simply nodded in response. When Mina left, Nayeon was alone in the waiting room with their manager Unnie.

"It's really thoughtful of you to come here with Mina. Making sure that she is not alone during difficult times like these." Their manager stated.

Nayeon, on the other hand, didn't seem to take those words as a compliment, as she grimaced.

"It's the least we could do to cheer her up. I mean, I should've known she was having trouble with this. But I didn't...No one noticed." Nayeon expressed her dismay.

"Don't blame yourself, Nayeon. It's not your fault. Not you, your members, or even Mina." Their manager consoled her.

"Plus, no one noticed since we all know Mina's good at acting, especially concealing her emotions."

"But I could have prevented it from overwhelming her. Because I'm the eldest, I should have been there for her." Nayeon said in hushed tones, nearly crying.

"Shhh, Mina is an angel, and you're such a sweetheart for being so concerned. But, for the time being, no matter how much we blame ourselves, nothing will change. Instead, let us try our best to help Mina in overcoming this obstacle. It's the only thing we can do for the time being. You could encourage her more by taking little steps." She continued.
