Chapter 15

Allen

Robert was coming home today to meet Ari. Both of them had many things to talk, clear certain misunderstandings, abandon their egos and finally admit their mistakes. Ari told me they haven't talked to each other since our marriage. Robert was angry on her for, she couldn't convince her dad. But Robert has to know Ari did not have smooth flowing relationship with her father. She has to tough grind even to tell a word to her father, leave about convincing him to their relationship.

Robert had to understand aloping from home wasn't a choice for Ari, she is a gang leaders's daughter. Nevertheless she did love him sincerely inspite of all the loggerheads she had to face. She went to an extant of committing a suicide if she did not have him in her life which proves her love for Robert was strong and undeniable. I made Robert understand these things. Though the easy way it sounds he was a tough nut to crack but thank heavens, finally he agreed to marry Ari.

I felt both of them should have some alone time with each other to comprehend the situations and may be plan for the marriage convincing Harris. I have already met my family lawyer and spoke to him about the legal blockheads in filing divorce. After all it is not even an year that I and Ari are married but Ari needs to stay happy and that is what I am going to give her - happiness by any means. I wantedly planned Robert's visit to my house when I leave to Michigan. I did not want to be an intrudence in their privacy though it took every cell in me to stop what was about to happen.

The door bell rang and I felt a knot in my stomach. Ari was obdurately dull and being mulish since today morning. I did not know the reason why, though I want to heal her. Probably she was undergoing her PMS. That is the only reason I could make for a conclusion.

I exhaled a heavy breathe and opened the entrance in slightly quavering steps. In front stood a tall man in muscular built. He was dressed in a black t.shirt and gray jeans. Both his ears were pierced and a tattoo of an assumed logo was half way peering from the upper right arm of his quarter sleeved shirt. Girls only fall for these kind of hunks. They wouldn't prefer formally dressed men at white collar workplaces. They want sexy bruisers, spoilt and dark. Obviously Arianna was not an exception.

On the contrary since my childhood I was  goal oriented and simple. I did not have time to flirt with girls. I wasn't a sage though and had my usual taste of girls away from work when I wanted to relax. No girl friends, being a doctor I knew what a cigarette or an addiction does to your body. So no smoking and drugs. I had not a single tattoo on my body because frankly speaking I have no time for such bullshit.

I did not spend hours in gymnasium building my muscles. I only went for running or long walks but ate the right diet that got me a lean, tall and a strong healthy figure (perks of being a medical practitioner). Robert smiled at me extending his hand and introduced himself. "I am Robert Martin, glad to meet you."

I give him a courteous nod placing my hand in his "Allen...Allen Rogriguez, was a pleasure to meet you." I draw a strained smile and offered him a seat inviting him inside my house. "Ari" I call my wife, "just come and see who had come to visit you." Wiping her hands to a napkin Ari comes out of the kitchen with a glower. Women and their mood swings. I have never seen her in such bad mood in all my seven months of living with her. Even on the day I blew a fuse after knowing about her relationship with Robert she was in a better disposition than today.

"Hi baby, how are you? Robert brings Ari to a hug and I pulled my eyes everywhere else in the room unable to resist their proximity. What an unlucky bastard I am! I would remarkably be the first fool on earth who would be arranging dates and implore his wife in the arms of another man. I was supposed to leave to the airport before Robert reaches my address but I believe I am once again star-crossed and not bestowed with the best luck by God. There was a technical issue and the flight is delayed by three hours.

"Baby, I missed you so much." Robert attempts to kiss her but she evades his peck turning her face to a side on time and the kiss lands on her cheek. I bit the inside of my cheek and shut my eyes tight as if it would blow away the pain in my heart. The water glass in my hand broke to pieces with the tightness I held it.  My hand goes injured bleeding to a river in a matter of seconds. Breaking the hug of Robert Ari runs to me.

"How did the glass break, how could you be so careless and injure your hand, Allen?" Ari panics and begins to clean the blood on my hand in haste with the hand towel she held. Robert walks behind, indignation clear on his face but he masks it with a plastic smile when our eyes meet. "Ari, it is just a small cut, you are overreacting." He tells her pointing to my hand.

I gently nudge Ari on her shoulder asking her to move away. "Ari I am going to be fine, Robert is our guest. Go and serve a drink to him." Drawing her eyes to a blazing volcano Ari speaks to me emitting flames. "No where I am going leaving you like this. Come here." She pulls me along with her to the kitchen sink and holds my hand under the tap of water. Blowing air on the wounded part as though it would quench my pain she cleans my hand tenderly with a ball of cotton and antiseptic bringing down the first-aid kit from the top shelf.

Robert shifts between his legs leering behind with an obvious resentment. "Ari he is a doctor, I think you are forgetting it." He tells in between gritting his teeth. Ari turns behind like a swirl of a wind to look at him with a grading irk. Her lips punctured in a thin line. "Robert if you think I am over reacting on this you are welcome to leave." She points to the entrance with her hand. "The door is open."

My uninjured hand reaches her in firmness as I tell her softly in a caution with a tone only she and I can hear. "You are misbehaving." Robert marches to Ari in perilous steps and holds her upper arms in strength marking his fingers. "If you are so much in love with your husband, stay with him. Why call me?" He tilts his head pulling to a menacing snigger followed by a scorn. "What are you doing, leave her arm, you are hurting her." I tell him in a nettled assertion and push his hand away with a jerk. "Romeo and Juliet 2 - the untold love story of a new era" how does the title of your romance novel work out? He shifts his eyes between both of us with a sneer and lands suddenly serious looking at me. "I am not much a fan of using handed-down articles, Dr Allen Rodriguez."

"Mr Robert Martin, Arianna is still a virgin, I haven't touched her, if that what your confusion is about." Robert pulls his head back and goes to a hysterical laughter. Finally when the chuckles die down he shook his head looking at me. "Dr Rodriguez, you might have studied bulky books on medicine but you haven't understood the heart of a woman." At the moment I wanted to punch his face in several designs yet I stand guarding the idiot's opinion nonchalant. This fool regards the future of Ari.

"Virginity is a certificate given to a woman's body, what about the heart?" I pour drinks for Robert and me inviting him to the drawing room. "Ari go inside the bedroom and watch the movie we planned today. I will join you in a few minutes." My patience was hanging on a thin thread as I continue to converse with this headlong.  "Ari tried committing suicide because she fell in love with you and married me. Is this the respect you give to her love?" I hand him the glass of wine resisting my urge to fuse him in the stomach.  "I am not too much an educated man like you Dr Rodriguez, yet I take the privilege to impart this teaching to you." He takes a sip of his wine and speaks to me resolved. "My long time girlfriend can be your wife but your wife can never get back to be my girlfriend."  I smirk twirling the red liquid in the glass and jeer at him. "To which century do you belong Mr Martin? I have seen women sneak under the nose of their husbands..."

"Do you think Arianna belongs to the same category of women Dr Allen? She might have loved me in the past but her heart now belongs only to you." I was left spell shocked looking at the man in front of me. He gets up swiftly from the seat tucking his hands in his pant pockets.

"Have a happy married life Dr Allen Rodriguez."

Ha ha claps
This is the biggest climax.
