'*WARNING*WARNING*YOUR MOM IS CALLING*YOUR MOM IS CALLING* I wake up hearing the sound of my mom's ringtone.

"Hello." I say with a tired voice letting her know she woke me up.

"Oh honey I'm so sorry for waking you up. You can call me back when you're awake." my mom, Donna says with sympathy on the other end of the line.

"It's ok mom, what time is it?"

"It's 12:43, dear." she says with more of a cheery voice.

"Oh ok, I need to get up anyway. Um, what did you need?" I ask her as I'm pulling myself out of bed and head to the bathroom. Yes, people I talk on the phone and go to the bathroom, I'm not gross, everybody does it at one point whether by accident or not.

"Oh you know, Kent and I were wondering if you wanted to come over for the fourth of July? You never answered me a few weeks ago. We're having your favorite! " she adds the last one with an excited voice hoping it will lure me in. She knows my weakness is parmesan crusted chicken with garlic mashed taters, parm crusted asparagus and hot rolls. Mmmm....ok maybe I'll do it.

"Ok fine, what time? And is everyone going to be there?" I ask her as I start to wash my hands.

"Oh you know the usual time around six and no, everyone else has plans. You were the only one that didn't answer yet." she says way too excited about me coming over.

"Ok, mom. I'll see you and Kent at six. Love you, later." I say with a small chuckle at her excitement.

"I love you too honey. Oh and bring something for dessert please." she says quickly

"Gotcha. I'll go to the store on my way over." and with that I hung up and walked to my room to get ready.

I can't believe I slept until one in the afternoon. I never sleep that late unless I stay up too late. Maybe it's because I stress too much then don't rest enough to make up for it. Which is why I went out with the girls last night.

I step in my bathroom and take off my night clothes, adjust the water. I connect my phone to my bluetooth speaker and fill the room with music then step in the shower slowly. I say 'step slowly' in because I slipped getting in once and have taken precautions ever since then...it hurts don't try it at home!

I wash my hair, *shake my bum to the song a little* then I wash my body, *move my hands in the air and shake my bum a little more*, then I grab my razor and start shaving in all the areas needed, *bobbin my head to the beat*, then after making sure everything is rinsed off I turn off the water. I grab my pink fluffy towel and start to dry off.

I walk over to the bathroom counter and take my time applying lotion, letting myself air dry a little more as I walk to my closet and decide what I'll wear to mom and Kent's dinner.

I call him Kent sometimes even though he's more of a dad then any other father figure that has been in my life. He showed me I could trust a man to take the position as a father and him take the role seriously and be there for our family for all the right reasons and not the wrong ones.

I will always be grateful to him for loving my mom the way he does. It makes me believe there is such a thing as true love and I know somewhere there is true love for me too.

I grab my strapless red jersey dress that drops just past the knee, my white jean jacket and a dark blue belt that fits loosely around my waist.

I set everything on my bed and grab my matching red lace bra and underwear set (yes, I say underwear because I hate the word panties..ugh!) putting them on before my outfit.
