TripAfter she pulled me in the water we splashed and played around for a bit then got out to get dressed and warm again. The night air was starting to get chilly since the summer is coming to an end. We grab towels and walk in the house. I grab her hand and lead her upstairs to my room to get her clothes again like we did earlier.
“Find you another shirt and I’ll get you some boxers.” I say pointing to the closet
She doesn’t say anything, just nods and walks in. I walked in the closet to hand her the boxers and didn’t know she was changing.
“Oh no, I’m so sorry! I didn’t know you were going to be changing in there.” I say quickly shutting the closet door after throwing the boxers on the floor in her direction. I hear her laugh.
“It’s ok, I’m pretty confident you only saw my back.” she says through the door like it’s no big deal. Wait, did she want me to see her?
“Yeah well I’m still sorry. I should’ve knocked first.” I say more to myself. She walks out with wet clothes in hand and a cute dimpled smile on her face.
“All good! Where can I put these?” she says holding the wet clothes out to me. Now she's wearing my favorite black tshirt that has a picture of Stevie Nicks in black in white on the front.
Once again my tshirt is so big you can pretty much only see firm tan legs from here. I take a deep breath and realize I was staring too long when I see her smirk.
“Oh..yeah, here let me take them for you.” I grab them then walk to the bathroom to hang them on the tub to dry.
“You can go downstairs to wait for me if you want. I’m just gonna change really quick.” I say as I walk to my drawer and grab me a pair of boxers and shorts.
“It’s cool, I can wait here for you.” she says then falls back on my bed with her hands behind her head.
When she does my t-shirt she’s wearing comes up enough I can see a part of her stomach. The sun tattoo I just learned about was peeking out of the boxers she’s wearing just enough I can see where it’s at. I smile thinking about how brave she was for telling me everything about her like that. I nod my head letting her know I heard her when I turn to my closet to get a t-shirt, get boxers and shorts then head for the bathroom to change.
When I get out she’s still laying on my bed but on her stomach and looks up when she hears me open the door.
“You want to go watch tv or do you want to lay down or something? I don’t really know, I mean if you’re ready to go home I can give you a ride if you don’t want to dri--” I hear her laugh and I stop talking. “What?” I say confused but can’t help but chuckle a bit
“You! You’re so cute when you ramble on like that.” she tells me shaking her head
“Oh, really! So we’re back to you thinking I’m cute, huh?” her eyes go wide and she looks away.
“It’s ok, you’ll love me one day.” She looks at me again with narrowed eyes as a challenge.
“Why do you always say that? Like you know something I don’t know.” her face softens and her eyes start to tear up.
“Whoa, whoa, wait a minute! What’s wrong?” I run to her and wrap my arms around her.
“No-nothing.” I feel her jerk like she’s trying not to cry but is not doing a good job of it. Tears start pouring and I find myself holding her tighter and rubbing her back.
“Shhh. Shhh, it’s ok. It’s ok, let it out! I’m here, baby doll, just let it out!” she wraps her arms around me and we just lay there holding each other for a good five minutes while she just pours tears out. When she finally calms down and her breathing gets normal she finally speaks.
