ben told tate to close her eyes and she did. he was so excited to see her reaction. everything he planned out had to go perfect.

he had her close her eyes once they exited the freeway so she was antsy to see where he took her.

ben led her out the car and opened the trunk. "and open!" she opened her eyes and gasped.

"ben oh my gosh. is that a projector?" tate was beyond amazed at what ben did for her.

"yes. i also bought your favorite snacks and candies. you can also pick whatever movie you want out of the three i have downloaded." he was nervous, but happy that she liked everything. "yayy! can we watch ratatouille?" she asked.

"yep." ben knew ratatouille was one of tate's favorite disney movies so he downloaded it. it was one of his favorites too.

"i love this movie" ben exclaimed. she smiled at him and the movie started playing.

ben hopped into the trunk and tate shivered and pulled the blanket closer to her. she asked,  "why is it this cold in the summer time?"

"it's because we're like basically on a mountain. we're higher in the sky. do you want my hoodie? i brought an extra one." ben asked her.

"uh yeah sure." he gave tate his hoodie and grabbed the other hoodie and put it on.

it smelled like him and it still had his body warmth. "thanks." he smiled at her and stood up to go fix the white sheet.

"okay. we're ready." ben ran back to the car and sat down next to tate.

the next hour was filled with laughs and giggles.

as the movie came to an end, tate was in awe. "this is literally the best movie to ever exist." she sobbed. ben laughed and put an arm around her.

tate felt something run through her body when she felt ben's touch. she was praying and hoping she was not blushing. god i'm so embarrassing

tate took her phone out and snapped a picture of them. "we look so cute." she gushed.

they both laughed and then went silent. come on tate you can do it she thought.

ben you can tell her. TELL HER their hearts raced as their minds yelled at them.

"i need to-" they said at the same time and laughed. "you go first." ben said with curiosity.

"okay.. ben, i kind of like- i don't know if it's been this obvious but i have kind of have feelings for you." she was so tired of going back and forth with her mind he either likes you or he doesn't.

her heart raced so fast that she thought she was gonna have a heart attack.

"you do?" ben was surprised and in so much shock. he wasn't expected her to say anything first.

"um.. well i mean basically yea. i just don't understand these stupid feelings. but i think i like you?" the way tate was so unsure of her answer made her really mad.

ben smiled and confessed, "tate, i uh.. i have feelings for you too. and i'm sure of it." no way.. her mind was playing tricks on her.

"look, i may like you but i don't want to make anything official you know? it's just all so fast. i need to figure out my feelings for you and make sure that i do like you. i do not want to lead you on." tate sighed and hoped this didn't hurt him.

ben said, "no of course. take your time tate." he hugged her and she hugged him back.

ben wanted so bad to kiss her and she wanted to kiss him too, but neither of them felt like the other one wanted to at the moment.

"follow me." ben broke the silence and grabbed tate's hand to guide her on a blanket outside. "lay down and look up."

once she got settled on the ground, tate looked up and gasped at all the stars she saw.

"woah.. i never knew you could see so many stars up here." she was amazed.

ben laid down next to her and agreed. "we're all on our phones too much to even look up and enjoy outer space." he huffed. "yea.."

they talked all night and watched the sun rise. "look at those cars. there's so many strangers with so many different stories."

tate then went on a rampage about her fascination of people watching and ben gazed at the beautiful girl he was sitting next to.

the beautiful girl who always had something to talk about. the beautiful girl who had the prettiest smile in any room. the beautiful girl who makes him happy
