"You're alone?", Andrew's concerned voice surfaced my ears as soon as I answered his video call. Wala man lang hello or what."Yeah", I glanced around me to see the people waiting for the flight like me. It's past midnight now and I got no choice but to but to avail this flight because I'm too excited to see mom.
"Can you go there alone? I mean, how about you once you landed in Australia? Can you travel to where your house is?"
I nodded and pouted because he looked so uneasy and so worried upon knowing that I'll be alone in visiting my mom.
"I think I can manage. Malapit lang naman yata sa airport yung house namin"
"You should've tagged someone with you, Kelsey. You're still young to travel alone", I couldn't stop myself from smiling seeing him so serious, "Your Dad could've at least accompanied you until your home in Australia then go back to the Philippines right after instead of giving you an authorization letter to travel alone. That's not that hard for a father doing good thing for his daughter"
I laughed a little with what he said. It's as if what he said is a small thing. That would be a huge thing for Dad knowing how busy he is. Hindi nga siya nakasama sa Japan, sa akin pa ba? And besides...
"Do you want Tita Monica to get mad with Dad?", I smiled widely, pain hiding inside my chest, "I'll be going to visit my mom, Andrew. My Mom!", I repeated to emphasize my mom.
Andrew stared at me for a moment before heaving a deep sigh. Obviously, he's already defeated because he also knew my life in the Chua's family. He knew how Tita Monica loathe my mom and how she dislikes me being with their family.
"Fine, fine! Just make sure to be safe, Kelsey. Call me once you landed in Australia", he took a deep breath while I was nodding my head and smiling sweetly at him, "Anyway, Ate's saying hi to you"
"Where is she?"
"Kakalabas lang. She has a date with Jasper...", Andrew hasn't finished what he's saying when I heard my flight being called.
"Hey, Drew. Gotta go. They're announcing my flight now", I stood up and picked up my jacket and my small black luggage. I slowly walked with the people probably having the same flight with me.
"Take care, Kelsey", I smiled and waved at him before ending our call.
I was sleepy but I couldn't sleep while the airplane was traveling to Australia. I was too excited that I couldn't help but smile secretly at myself knowing that hours from now, I'll be with my mom again.
One week lang na bakasyon ang pinayagan ni Dad but that's already a big thing for me. I just wanted to visit my mom. This will be my first time in Australia after Dad took me to the Philippines. Siguro marami nang pagbabago doon.
It's morning in the Australia when we landed. This is also one of the reasons why I took the midnight flight. Umaga na akong darating sa Australia and mas madaling mag-travel by land kapag umaga.
I was so giddy and nervous when I took a cab to go to our house. What if wala si Mommy sa house? Baka di ko siya maabutan since she has work today. But it's still early so maybe she hasn't left the house yet.
I was just watching outside the window while traveling to where our house is. There are lots of changes in this place. Hindi naman ganito karami ang mga bahay dito noon. May mas malalaking bahay na rin ngayon at may mga palaruan pa kaming nadaan.
