Chapter 17

"I still can't believe that she died after giving birth", Gerlie lit the candles on Fayre's grave after we arranged all the flowers. It's been a month since Eros was born and also a month since we lost Fayre.

We may had a glitch between her after knowing what they did to Czairina but maybe because we knew how she suffered from her marriage with Edz, we learned to accept her as well. Maaaring may naging malaking pagkakamali silang nagawa ni Edzel noon pero hindi naman dapat nadadamay ang bata.

"She could've been a great mom to Eros if only she's here", I smiled sadly while glancing on our innocent baby Eros. He's sleeping peacefully on Tita Gaile's arms.

"I miss you, Fay." Among us, Shirina's the most affected with Fayre's death. She's her bestfriend since childhood. Sila 'yung magkasangga simula pa noon.

I couldn't imagine how painful it is losing a dear friend. Noong umalis si Czai, sobrang sakit na para sa akin. What more if a person lost her bestfriend due to sudden death? That'd surely be the most heartbreaking thing that could happen to someone who cherish her friend so much.

"She's surely peaceful wherever she is by now, Shi", Gerlie comforted Shirina on our side. I was just listening to them since everything still feels so raw to us, "Dad told me that death would only snatch away a life but the memories you created with her would remain forever. She may not be present anymore but I'm sure that wherever she is by now, she's surely happy to see that everyone loves and adores her son so much"

And we're only left with her memories. Tama si Gerlie, Fayre may not be physically here anymore but she left us with good memories and ofcourse, our cute little baby Eros.

"Habang tumatagal mas lumalabas yung mga features na namana ni Eros from you, Edz", we heard Miah chuckled while she's staring at Eros. Nagising na pala ito pero dahil baby pa, mukhang nagutom lang. It's just sad that he never experienced breastfeeding.

"Sana mamana rin ang katalinuhan", Andrew added while calling me to sit on his side. Iniwan kong nag-uusap si Gerlie at Shirina para lumapit kay Andrew.

"Wag manahin ang pagiging chickboy ni Daddy, ha", Miah whispered to Eros. Tinawanan lang namin nang sumimangot si Edzel.

I'm glad he's getting better. He's doesn't looked lifeless anymore. Mukhang nagkakadireksyon na ulit ang buhay niya simula noong dumating si Eros.

"Wag din sanang manahin ang pagiging madaldal ng Mommy niya", Shirina joined us. Kasunod din niya si Gerlie na naupo sa tabi ni Frankie.

Hindi ko napigil na mangiti nang mapanuod kung paano kinintilan ng marahang halik ni Frankie si Gerlie sa sentido. Gerlie's telling him about something while Frankie's listening attentively with soft eyes and small smile on his lips. He always looks soft and passionate whenever he's with her.

"I'm sure this kid will grow looking so much like you, Edzel", nabaling kay Lux ang paningin ko nang magsalita ito. He was introduced to our friends by Miah just a couple of months ago.

Ang kwento ni Miah, nagkabalikan sila ni Lux ilang buwan pagkatapos bumalik nito galing London. He's still studying Law kaya abala pa ito. Yun din ang rason kaya nagdalawang-isip si Miah na makipagbalikan. She doesn't want to be a distraction to Lux.

But this particular Narvaez was too determined to win Miah again. He said that he won't be able to concentrate more if Miah won't take her back. And since they're still obviously so in love with each other, nagkabalikan pa rin sila kahit pa ilang taon silang nagkahiwalay. That's how powerful a love could be, huh?
