Chapter Eight

September 2016

"Is it me? Is it you? Who's the first? Who's the fool?" You mumble a few lyrics you had written down. You've been in Paris for almost a month now and so far you've written nothing. You had many ideas but didn't know where to start but last night you were coming back from dinner with Madi and you spotted a magazine and the front cover had Sebastian and Kate in Mexico kissing but you paid no attention to that but more the headline.

Sebastian Stan spotted with a mystery brunette, is this the other girl the marvel star cheated on Y/n Evans with? For once you let out a genuine laugh in months and couldn't believe it was for some tabloid. It helped though because once you arrived back to where you were staying you went straight to your notebook and started writing down some lyrics.

"I'm gonna go grab some coffee down the street, do you want anything?" Madison asks you.

You look up from your notebook, "No I'm fine. Already had a whole pot of coffee." You say already jittery.

Madi shakes her head, "I swear you're gonna fly through this roof if you drink more coffee. I'll be back." She says and exits the apartment.

You walk up to the small bar set up in the kitchen and grab a glass filling it with wine, you look down and see a martini glass. You scoff shaking your head.

"I'll just get a glass of wine, please." You say to the bartender.

"Dry martini," Kate says without glancing at the bartender and you send him an apologetic look.

"So...tell me what are your plans for Christmas?" She asks you.

"Seb and I are gonna go to Boston-" You start but Kate cuts you off.

"Ugh boring! Why don't you come with me to Bali? I bet you'll find plenty of fun things to do...or someone to do." She says smirking.

You roll your eyes at her, "Sometimes I feel like you forget I have a boyfriend."

"Of course not but come on you think that's gonna last?" She asks.

"Why wouldn't it?" You ask her.

"All men are the same. They love you for whoever long then get tired of the same person and look for someone new to get their dick wet. It happens to everyone." She says.

"Well...maybe others do that but Seb would never. I know him." You say.

"Whatever you say," Kate says taking a sip of her drink.

It didn't hit you till now how terrible Kate truly was. How can someone you've known for half your life do what she did? And even after everything she never reached out. She wasn't apologetic. She knew what she was doing ever since that day and you never realized it. And you still wonder was she the other girl? Or was it really you with the way they both lied to you?

"Don't hold back when you write. If you're angry write about. If you're sad write about it. If you're happy write about it. Don't hold back for yourself or anyone." Taylor's voice echoed through your head when she told you that before you left for Paris.

"Well better get to work." You say to yourself.
