Nauna akong dumating sa condo at nagtaka kung bakit wala pa ang dalawa.
“Samuel, nasaan na kayo?” Panimula ko ng tawagan ang number ni Samuel.
“We’re on our way, may dinaanan lang” sagot niya sa kabilang linya. May narining naman akong background music. A Million Dreams. Paborito itong kanta ni Seth at the moment. Palagi nalang niya itong kinakanta simula nuong nag movie kami sa The Greatest Showman.
“Okay, mag ingat kayo” Binaba ko na ang tawag at nagtungo na sa kusina. Mabuti nalang at kompleto ang mga rekados ko sa mga ni’request ni Seth na mga ulam at nagsimula na ako.
Dumating ang mag ama 30 minutes later habang ang CPA ay nagstart na mag simmer habang ang lasagne nasa oven pa.
“Mommy!” Bungad ng kaniyang anak pagkarining niya sa doorbell ng kaniyang apartment. Umaksyon itong magpapakarga at ini-stretch ang dalawang kamay.
“Seth, you’re big boy na, ‘wag na pakarga” She said this but she carried Seth nonetheless. “Oh, may fries kang dala?”
“Yep, Daddy bought me some fries and a sundae sa Jollibee” Kaya pala ito natagalan
“Samuel, you’ll ruin Seth’s dinner” I said while putting Seth sa dining table
“Eh, gusto niya eh, Seth wont ruin his dinner, right kiddo?” Agad namang tumango ang kaniyag anak at kumain ng fries. Mabuti namang small sixe lang binili nito.
Maya-maya pa ay tumunog na ang oven hudyat na luto na ang lasagna. Samuel helped in preparing their utensils while I serve the CPA and the lasagna. Of course, Seth led the prayer.
Masaya silang kumain ng kanilang hapunan. Paminsan-minsan ay sinusubuan ni Samuel si Seth habang masaya naman si Seth na nagpapasubo.
Napagkwentuhan naman namin ang kaniya-kaniyang araw. Samuel said na may project siyang dapat asikasuhin sa Cebu, isang hotel. He needs to go since siya ang kinuhang structural engineer.
“Sige kain pa kayo, especially you Samuel, alam ko pagod ka” I scoop another spoonful of lasagne on Samuels’ plate.
“Nooo nooo!” Samuel resisted pero huli na ng nalagyan ko na ang plato niya “Samantha, hindi ko na kaya, busog na busog na ako” Napangisi naman ako ng nakita ko siyang nag pout
“Nako Daddy, Mommy told me na you should finish all the food that’s in your plate. Sayang po kasi” Seth commented while he murder his sundae. I smiled when I saw Samuel's defeated face.
“Okay, okay. I’ll finish na, i hope my stomach has still room for more lasagna” Samuel eat it nonetheless “Mabuti nalang masarap magluto si Mommy right Seth?” Seth nodded.
Mommy.., it sounded sweet. Hindi ako nasanay na may ibang tumatawag sa akin non maliban kay Seth. But when Samuel uttered that word, i feel euphoric.
After taking a half bath, Seth is finally asleep. Si Samuel ang nagligpit ng pinagkainan at siya narin ang naghugas. While I changed into my favorite yellow PJ’s. I turn on th TV and tamang-tama, Inside Out ang palabas. I was so focused watching when someone kissed my cheeks.
“Samuel!” As always he always caught me off gaurd with his sweet gestures.
“Shh, wag kang maingay. Halika na while Seth is already asleep, lets get busy” he said and leaned in another kiss. I covered my lips with my hands
“No Samuel, pareho tayong pagod. Hmm baka gusto mo ng dessert? May dala akong moist cake form the coffee shop” I offered , trying to distract his mind.
“What if I like you as my dessert?” He traced my stomach that send shivers. And then before I can resist he held my hand that was covering my mouth and kissed me passionately.
Napapikit ako at muli, nawala na naman ako sa reyalidad. I can feel his tongue already inside my lips and his hands roaming around my body trying to undress me. Wala akong naisip na pagkukunan nang lakas kaya’t kumapit ako sa kaniyang batok, dinidiin pa ang aming mga labi. But Samuel stopped.
“Wait, I hear something” The door of Seth’s room opened exposing Seth carrying his stuff toy. Agad naman kaming umayos ng pagkakaupo ni Seth.
“Hey kiddo, why you up?” pamungad ni Samuel at agad naman itong binuhta at kinandong sa kaniyang lap while facing him to me.
“Parang mainit ka Seth” Samuel added. I hurriedly put my palm in his forehead and neck at tama nga medyo mainit nga ito.
“Hey baby, what happened to you?” I said and i stand up kukuha ng medicines and thermometer. Im always prepared about these things. Kahit gaano ka hyper and energetic si Seth, madali naman itong magkasakit.
“I don’t feel well, Mommy and Daddy.” Seth clinged to his father more and Samuel hug him more too. Awwe my heart melted again.
“Heto na baby, drink up” I said showing him the syrup. I know hates the taste of this kaya naman nagtago ang mukha nito sa leeg ng ama.
“C’mon baby, para magaling ka kaagad” Kinuha naman ni Samuel and thermoter and placed it at Seth’s armpit. Kinuha din niya ang syrup and ordered me to get some water.
“Seth, please drink this na. Promise kapag magaling ka na, mamasyal tayo kahit saan mo gusto.” Seth’s face finally showed. Aw my baby, his eyes are teary and tired. Sana bukas wala na ang lagnat nito.
“Okay.” Seth finally drink his meds while panicking to drink water after.
“Wow that’s my boy! C’mon let’s get you to sleep” Samuel carried him to the room and I followed. He handed me the thermometer – 38°c, mataas na ito. And as a mother bigla akong nagging anxious.
“Mommy, Daddy I want to sleep with you both beside me please. “
“Of course baby, Anything you want” Agad naman kaming pumwesto ni Samuel – him on the right while me on the left. Of course Seth fell asleep while hugging his father.
When Seth is already in deep slumber, lumabas na kami ni Samuel. “Ano kaya if ipa check up natin siya bukas kapag hindi bumaba ang kaniyang fever?” Samuel started to pack his stuff and ready to leave.
“Sige kapag hindi pa nawala. E-tetext kita” Nag wrap naman ako ng left-over lasagne and let Samuel bring it. He declined at first pero wala siyang nagawa when I put the Tupperware in his backpack.
“Bukas na ang punta ko sa Cebu, mga 1 week or more ako doon depende sa aasikasuhin.” He informed me, tumango naman ako and he opened the door. “Please keep me updated kay Seth” His eyes still worried.
“Yes, i will. Sige na. Malapit na mag 11 oh para makauwi ka na.” Nakita ko namang tumango si Samuel and he left our unit. “Good night, Drive carefully”. I am about to close the door when I hear some running footsteps.
“Wait Samantha! I forgot this.” Samuel pulled me closer to him and we shared a passionate kiss. Not too long but it was enough to hype me up. I cling to him forgetting the time. He let go first “Now definitely, I will have a wonderful sleep.”
I saw him walk away from our unit while I am left speechless. Yes, I will have a wonderful sleep too.
