5 pm na ng dumating si Amy and Mica sa hospital. Samuel is still here, feeding Seth some strawberries na binili ko kanina sa grocery.
"Tita Amy and Tita Mica!!" Seth suddenly stand in his bed at dali naman itong inalalayan ni Samuel while I arranged his IV wire na nalukot.
"Here you go Sethy" Amy gave him some fruits. Madaming oranges and apples tapos may pineapple pa. Kinuha ko naman ito at nilagay sa table.
"Ang dami naman nito Amy" I commented. Para namang more than a week kami dito. "Well, fruit juices boost the production of lymphocytes that fight the infection. Its a must fave for dengue patients." Amy casually said habang may kinakalikot sa phone. Napangisi ako because of what Dra Amy said.
"Pabibo ka naman masyado DOC," Mica sarcastically said and he handed Seth a paper bag at laman yun ay burger, chicken meal and spaghetti from Jollibee. Seth's face then lit up pagakita niya sa logo nang paboritong fastfood.
"Yehey!! Jollibee!" Mica handed him the burger and Seth then have a big bite but naiba timpla ng mukha nito bigla.
"Mica you shouldn't have bought some junkfoods, it will weaken his immune system." Dra Amy said again. Mica rolled his eyes. But Seth jumped in glee when his father unwrapped it.
"See? he likes it." Mica said and the Seth started eating the burger.
Sumunod si Samuel sa akin sa sofa bed and he leaned his head in my shoulder and played with my hand. I know he's tired from work and with Seth. Nakatuon lang ang atensyon niya kay Seth buong araw. Nakita ko namang pinandilatan ako ni Amy. Napabuntog hininga naman ako 'don. I owe everyone explaining. Parang na pressure ako bigla.
"I forgot, my tastebuds aren't working right now tita Mica. Sabi ng doctor it's because I have a fever." Binigay ni Seth ang burger kay Samuel at iyon na umobos. Tumawa ako nang makita ang pagkadismaya sa mukha ni Mica.
"Tita Dra why are my taste buds gone? Is there something wrong with my tongue too?" Seth innocently questioned. Tumabi naman si Amy kay Seth sa kaniyang bed.
"Well. when we're sick, our noses are often blocked with mucus. Also, our tissues inside our nose can become swollen and inflamed. This prevents us from smelling properly." Amy slowly explained while Seth's face is full of confusion.
"Tita Dra, I dont get it. My sense of taste is gone, why are you talking about the nose?" Seth questioned.
"Oo nga anong connect dun?" Mica said also confused. Napangiti naman ako sa mukha ni Mica at Seth.
"Because your nose and tongue are connected, your sense of smell and sense of taste are both tied together. Now, if you can't smell things properly, you won't be able to taste them properly, either." Seth and Mica nodded.
Madami pa silang tinanong kay Tita Dra Amy. Umalis naman kami ni Samuel para bumili nang dinner.Doon lang kami sa malapit na restaurant bumili. At kanina pa ring ng ring ang phone ni Samuel.
