At the precinct.
I WAS SITTING AT MY DESK was sitting at my desk feeling tired. I looked around the surface, looking at the pile of papers piled up. it felt good to be back here. I leaned my elbows on my desk and looked at Burner's profile; its going to be complicated.
An officer had already informed Burner's family about his death and they would come in for interrogation tomorrow along with the forensic results of the earphones. I had nothing for the rest of the day, so I could go home.
I really hope Kai managed to destroy his fingerprints if not, well.... we are going to be in trouble.
I saw some papers from my desk shift and someone sat down. I looked up to see O'Connor. He looked at the papers on my desk and then to me, he smiled at me with his usual crooked smile.
O'Connor: " So, did you find something interesting, partner?"
I nodded. " I did actually; Burner over here is a real piece of trash. A rapist, four counts of sexual assault and many more". I said.
O'Connor:" That means a lot of suspects; apart from that, we have nothing to work with for now. You should probably go home and take some rest".
°°° The next morning
I rolled on my bed, avoiding the burning sun on my face. Feeling sick again. I had some sort of migraine and my back burned but it didn't last long. My ringtone interrupted my thoughts. I groan and grabbed my phone. I looked at the time... I still have five hours before i go to work, i looked at the caller ID to see Damon's name flashing. I frowned... Damon never call me. Actually i save his number so i can decline it to avoid his annoying shit.
I picked it up, it may be important. "Good morning, Jackass" I said with a playfull tone.
Damon:" Cruz, i need you at the high school right now!". He said quite breathless.
I sprug out of my bed. "Why?, What happened?!". I asked, grabbing my boots and putting them on.
Damon never calls me by my name.
Damon:" Kai...., Kai has Keylina at the high school". He said as i could hear the reving of a car and the faint voice of Liv in the background.
"Alright, i'm on my way".

I pulled up at the high school and jogged toward Damon and Jo waiting outside. I could have sworn i heard Liv's voice.
