Kai had informed that when she is going to be back home, he would be gone. Maricruz was worried for Jo, and after Kai told her that everything is going to change for the worst didn't make it better. Maricruz was in her car in the parking of the dance school, she took a deep breath, feeling suddenly sick not about meeting her team but for some other reasons, reasons she didn't know of. She got out of the car before locking it.
She walked toward the yellow crime scene tape, her sunglasses on her face making her look composed which she was not. She moved her blazer a bit aside, to show them her badge so that the police know that she is with the West Virginia Police Station. A policeman lifted the tape up, Cruz ducked down and she said a thank you. Before she could get in the dance school she was stopped by her lieutenant O'Connor.
Maricruz:" Good Morning, O'Connor". She greeted him with a smile on her face but he just nodded instead of greeting her back which kinda threw her off.
Damien:" Well, Fernandes, I've looked into your work and I'm impressed, the best homicide detective in my team but the Espinoza case was almost four months ago. You didn't call in sick nor took days off, Do you mind telling me where you were for the last months?".
He asked, dipping his head down to look at her face to face. Cruz licked her bottom lip and kept quiet, what was she supposed to tell him, that he was stuck into a prison world?.
He raised his eyebrows at her.
Damien:" Um, Fernandes, I'm waiting".
Maricruz took a deep breath and took off her sunglasses, she put her contacts today to see clearer.
Maricruz:" I'm sorry, it's complicated". She replied.
He frowned, thinking that something is wrong with her or at her home.
Damien:" Is everything alright?". He asked her while putting his hand on her shoulder.
Maricruz nodded but Damien doubted that, he sighed.
Damien:" Well, I think you should go home, Wheeler and Kaufmann are already on this, I will put you on an another case and also informed someone if you know you are going to go MIA".
He ordered her with firm voice leaving no place for arguments, he walked past her and walked to his car. Maricruz was pissed she loved her job and was stuck into a deserted place for four months and now her grumpy lieutenant tells her to go home.
Silently cursing him under her breath, she unlocked her car, got it and decided to go drop by Jo's place.

Cruz P.O.V
I called Jo, asking her if I can come by her house and she said that she wasn't working today and yes, I can come.
I knocked on her apartment door but no response. I called her to tell her that I was outside but she didn't pick up.
Realization hit me as I started to panic and beads of cold-sweat forming on my face. I took my gun out of my waistband, took off the safety click and hold it in front of me. I kicked the door opened and got in, my gun in my hands, I pressed my back against the wall and peaked inside to see nobody.
"Jo!". I yelled out, still hearing no response.....Kai, it has to be him, I placed the safety click back and slipped my gun in my waistband. I took my cellphone from my phone and called Ric.
My finger tapped against my thigh as I waited for him to pick up.
Ric:" I'm teaching, can you call me later?" He asked in a hushed voice.
"I'm afraid not, we have a problem, a big one". I replied, looking around for clues of where they could be.
Ric:" What's happening Cruz". He asked, I could feel him tense through the phone.
"Jo, she is missing, I called her to tell her I will drop by and now she's nowhere to be seen". I explained as walked outside of the apartment, I knocked on the door of the neighbour's door.
"Ric, imma have to call you later". I hung, not giving him time to reply as I heard footsteps approaching.
An elderly man opened man opened the door, he pushed his glasses on the bridge of his nose and looked at me with a sweet smile. I smiled back at him.
"Sorry for disturbing you sir, but have to seen a tall young man came here?". I asked him, showing him my badge. I just want to make sure that it's actually Kai.
?:" Yes, I did. He just busted in the apartment and I heard them arguing". He said and pointed toward the apartment with trembling hand. I breath out, it was actually Kai.
"Have you heard about where they were going?". I asked.
?:" Um... I heard the boy talking about the cemetery". He replied.
"The cemetery. Okay thank you". I thanked him as I ran out of the building, I took my phone out and called Ric back but he didn't answer. I texted him to go to the cemetery. I hopped into the car and drove off.

I got stuck on the road because of an accident that happened. Everyone is fine but I got delayed. Ric replied to my message and he told me that he was on his way.
I drove into the cemetery, looking around before getting out of the car, I spotted Ric's car, parked much far from where I was, before I got out off the car, I got a text from Ric.
He told me that Kai was in mausoleum along with Jo and Liv.
What was Liv doing here?.
My head flew up as I heard footsteps and leaves crunching, Damon was walking toward the mausoleum and whistled. Damon had his hands in his pocket, still standing outside of Mystic Falls. I saw Kai walking out and grabbing a long thick stick.
Kai:" Well, well, well, who do we have here?".
