song: my ordinary life by the living tombstone

Kai's P.O.V

I SAT IN THE PLASTIC CHAIRS stuck to the wall in the hallway, outside of the doctor's office. I tapped my fingers against the edge of my phone while the music played through my earphones. Moves like Jagger by Maroon 5.

Music nowadays are weird but I was getting sick of listening to Duran Duran and Ice cube on repeat. I might have or might not have downloaded Cruz's playlist on my phone. She has really nice taste in music.

I would be lying if I said that I was anxious about talking to the doctor, What does she want me to say? Hi, I'm Kai and I murdered most of my family.

I have seen this doctor before. Cruz came to see her after we came back from the prison world. I did leave after we kissed but I still wanted to be sure that she was safe.

I looked at the tan colored door with gold plate stuck on it with Dr Lynda Richards carved into it as it opened and a tall woman stood in the doorframe. She was wearing a black pencil skirt with a pink blouse on her shoulder, her glasses rested on her nose and her hair was in a bun.

One thing that i noticed is her eyes, blue. She had these detective eyes, just like Cruz's but her's were sharper whereas Cruz's were softer. I removed my earphones to hear her better.

Dr Richards: " Mr Parker?"
She asked, glancing down at her clipboard then back to me.

" That's would me."
I smiled and got up to walk inside when she gestured me to. I looked around the fairly small office, the four walls were painted in a tan color and the whole atmosphere was really calming. A black couch was stuck to the wall with a coffee table and a chair opposite to it. She had her desk on the other side of the room, next the door, there was a big window with a view of the parking lot and the cemetery which was further back... well.

Lynda:" Cruz told me you would come instead of her for her appointment." She said, closing the door behind me. I hummed in response.

" I guess she told you about my gruesome past." I turned around to face her with my hands in my pocket.

Lynda:" Gruesome past?" She walked past me toward her desk and placed her clipboard down on the mahogany table before looking back at me with raised brows.

" I guess not." I smiled before I clapped my hands.

She muttered an "ok" under her breath before she gestured me to sit on the couch and I did. I watched as she sat down on the chair infront of the coffee table.
