My head snapped up to the voice in the distance. I made out the silhouettes of two figures, one girl and one guy, but due to the darkness I was unable to see their features.

"Hey Dabi, Isn't she the girl we saw in that picture of Hawks earlier?"

I backtracked my steps as the pair began walking closer. I could tell they were villains. I wondered what they wanted. That girl mentioned Hawks, does he have some kind of connection towards them?

"Can I stab her? She looks tasty." the blonde one said.

"Wha- get the fuck away from me." I flinched backwards as the girl pulled out a knife. My stomach dropped "Whatever you guys are doing I won't tell, I promise, just leave me alone."

"But you already know too much." The guy's hand lit up with a blue flame. "It'd be a shame if we let a little girl like you run off and possibly slip up about what you've seen." I could see the scar tissue stapled to his skin.

"Please get away. I don't want to hurt you." I trembled as they had began walking closer to me. My fight or flight senses kicking in. "I swear, I didn't see anything."

"I don't think you'll be able to hurt us even if you tried sweetheart."

I quickly activated my quirk, I needed to protect myself. I wasn't used to teleporting my body away from them, as I was still learning to use it again. I placed my hands placed on the ground. I began forming a void in front of me, sucking up whatever was in range. If they managed to get too close they'd be gone as well.

Clumps of trash and the nearby vending machines were pulled into the void as it spread towards them, blocking them from coming any closer

"Uh Dabi, can we just retreat? everything's disappearing."

"Whatever. Ruined all the fun."

I didn't let up, determined to keep the void open until I knew for sure they had disappeared.

I released my quirk, face-planting into the concrete. My breath had turned ragged with the panic coursing through my body. They were gone, finally out of sight.

I ran from that alley as fast as my feet could take me. I didn't see what they were doing prior, nor did I understand what they were talking about. All I knew then and there, for that short period of time, I was in danger. I slid my back down a brick wall while I tried to regain control of my breathing as I heaved.

I was lost, exhausted, disoriented. As if I had no control over my current state. Why did she bring up that picture of Hawks and I? I went to the messages shared with Hawks. I could text him, but I needed to see him. I clicked on the location taking me to his house. He would have to go home at some point and I would be waiting there for him.

The rain made me shiver, I would probably develop a cold after tonight. I didn't know why I was going to his place, but I was so scared after what just happened, even walking alone currently caused panic to settle; I knew I wouldn't be able to be alone tonight.

I noticed all the lights were off, but I still knocked on the door anyway. When he didn't answer I sat on his front porch, providing warmth to myself by wrapping my arms around me.

A tear streamed down my cheek. I could have killed two people, given my life was in danger and I was certain both of them were villains. I told myself I would never use my quirk again because of that reason. All I knew how to do was cause harm to everyone in my life, whether that be physically harming them in some sort of way, or pushing them to the point where they hated me, like I had done with Hawks.
