"Good morning dove." My eyes fluttered open to the sun covering me in its warmth. His eyes glimmered from the light. Time stopped as I stared into his dilated pupils filled with adoration. If his eyes were the ocean then I was lost at sea.
The weekend was gone in a flash. Neither of us left the bed for anything, only to order takeout or shower together. Our days were filled with passion and intimacy. Sex with him was the most euphoric feeling my body could ever know.
I moaned as the joints in my body popped like kernels. I recalled he had physical therapy today. "How many more weeks of therapy do you have?" I questioned with a yawn.
"Only this and then the next, but I don't think I need it all thanks to you songbird." His arms squeezed me tighter into his chest.
I worked on healing more of his injuries throughout the weekend. After I found out I was able to heal his wounds it was all I cared about doing. I even healed the burns on his back were his quirk was, the nubs from where his wings grew were now covered in scar tissue. Only we hadn't seen any feathers yet.
There was still so much I didn't know. I wanted him to take all the time he needed to process his situation. It was hard not to push him for answers, but I didn't want to drive him away. I wished I wouldn't have to wait too much longer.
I was curious about his job, what he would do if he was never able to go back. "What's going on with you and the commission?" I asked, knowing he had a meeting with them recently.
"They aren't really sure yet." He shrugged monotonously. I sighed quietly. Once again I was getting nowhere. We lazily stayed in bed for hours, finally moving when it was close for him to leave.
Checking his wings was his least favorite part of the day. Whenever I used my quirk I tried to focus most of my energy on removing the damage done to his quirk, maybe if I erased what that villain did to him it could hopefully make his wings grow back.
I went through and checked all of his new scars. He still had a few scrapes and bruises here and there that we decided to let heal on their own. While I was confident in my power, I still preferred to keep it a secret.
I had him turn around for me. I looked to his dejected face through the mirror. His eyes drooped into his lap while he fiddle with the strings to his sweatpants.
the nubs he had on his back seemed to have grown a few more inches. I looked closer as I noticed these tiny crimson growths sprouting from them. It was if he was was a baby bird growing it's feathers.
I was astonished at the sight. "You have feathers." I muttered quietly.
His head snapped around to face my own. "What did you say."
I felt the red feathers beginning to grow, making sure they were really there. "You have feathers Keigo." I repeated.
"Let me see." His neck twisted to try and catch a glimpse of his back.
"If you keep turning your head like that you're going to break your damn neck." I scolded. "Let me take a picture." I swiped my screen over and zoomed close up on both of the nubs.
When I finished, Keigo snatched my phone out of my hands. He didn't say anything at first, I propped myself on the bathroom sink, patiently waiting for him to respond.
"I have feathers, they're coming back." His face showed a mixture of gleeful confusion. "How? Is this from you?"
"Uh, I don't- I'm not sure." Honestly I was confused as well. It was a miracle to finally see progress after so long. I never healed another person before. There were still parts of my quirk that were a mystery to me.
