Calum's POV
By the time we were at the beach, I was ready to collapse on to the sand, face first. But Luke insisted we walked to this 'special place' he likes on the beach. So of course, I said yes, letting him drag me along the beach; my warn out vans getting sand in and out of them.
"So I found a place of my own," Luke said out of the blue, letting his hand slip out of mine.
"My parents said they'll pay for everything, as long as I keep up my straight A in school." So he's leaving, just like that.
He's leaving me like that.
"Oh, that's cool," That's cool? Is that all I can muster up to say right now.
"Yeah" He didn't say anything else, a silence taking over our heart-rending conversation.
Minutes pass before Luke stopped walking, sitting down on the dark sand and looking out into the ocean. I sit next to him, not feeling close to at all, even though he's right there. I could literally put my hand out and touch his face, or kiss his face, but I can't. He doesn't want me, I know he doesn't.
