💬A Shared Disliking💬

Cats. That's all that was to be said if someone asked two particular hermits what they disliked the most. And they would respond immediately. From instinct, the two disliked felines with a passion.

So one problematic hermit decided to prank those two, wanting to know if the two of them would get closer from the encounter.

Ren was currently building his Darth Vader tower, placing block after block as he stood high above the ground. His communicator went off in his pocket, startling him slightly.

The dog grabbed his communicator from its holding place and checked what was going on. He had put the device on silent so he could focus on his work, but it rang when he got a direct message.

[Docm77]: Hey Ren. Apparantly, we've got a surprise waiting for us? I'm not sure who it's from but it seems like the person is wanting us to hurry.

Ren raised an eyebrow, reading the message a second time to recount what it contained. He texted back after a second of thinking.

[RenTheDog]: Alright. I'll meet you at The Barge?

[Docm77]: Yep, see you there.

The dog put the device back in his pocket and glanced at the progress he was making on the tower. It would have to wait for this "surprise."

He then equipped his elytra, turning to jump off the tower's scaffolding and fly to his nether portal.

Once through the portal and in the shopping district, the dog spotted the creeper hybrid stood outside the currently blocked off front door of The Barge. Ren walked over, stopping beside the hybrid.

"Heya, Doc. How ya been?" Ren asked, putting out a hand to shake his friend's hand.

Doc smiled softly at the dog, returning the handshake.

"I've been good, Ren. How about you?" Doc replied, leaning against the road pass barrier as they conversed.

"Good, excited for this "surprise". I wonder what it will be." Ren adjusted his shirt slightly as he spoke.

"Well, wanna head to the coordinates and find out?" The hybrid offered, chuckling a bit as the dog's ears perked up in excitement.

"Yes! Let's go!" Ren hooked his arm with Doc's, pulling him towards a more open area to take off at.

Doc just smiled at his enthusiasm and let himself be pulled along. The two took off, with the hybrid leading the way to the coordinates they had been given.

When they landed at the spot, they didn't see anything out of the blue, but definitely felt something off.

"What the..?" Doc muttered, finding a lone orchid in the middle of the sunflower field they landed in.

"Maybe the surprise is under the flower?" Ren asked, walking up beside the hybrid.

Doc nodded and broke the block holding the flower, jumping back as the sound of pistons and breaking scaffolding echoed through the area. Ren held back a startled whimper, his ears pressed against his head.

Suddenly, dozens upon dozens of cats were around them. They had fallen into a pit filled to the brim with the felines.

Ren stood up quickly, growling at any cat that was close to him. Doc, on the other hand, was scrambling to get away from the animals, knocking a few curious ones back with his trident.

"It was a frigging prank!" Ren stated in slight anger, looking to where his friend had moved away too.

Doc was pressed up against one of the walls of the pit, fear and anger in his expression. The dog made his way over to the hybrid, scaring away most of the cats with his growling as he moved to him.

"Doc, focus on my voice. I need you to stand up so we can get out of here." Ren said with as calm as a voice as he could muster, holding out a hand for Doc to grab onto.

The creeper did just that, and was pulled from the huddled position he had been in. Ren pulled him into a hug, despite the german being much taller than him.

He then proceeded to break into the dirt wall, making a path for them to climb out of the pit. He still held the hybrid close, rubbing his back gently with one hand while digging with the other.

They made it out soon enough, laying on the grass close to each other. Doc was still panicking slightly, but his breathing had leveled out. Ren held him close to his chest, stroking his hair and rubbing his shoulder gently.

"It's alright now, Doccy. We're out of there. Let's go home now." Ren assured, earning a small grumble from the hybrid.

"We aren't telling anyone about this... right?" Doc mumbled, looking up at the dog.

"If you don't want to tell anyone, then we don't have to." Ren replied, still touching the german's hair.

Doc nodded slightly, pulling away to stand up. Ren stood up as well. The two of them exchanged a hug, thankful they had each other during that dumb prank.

"I think I know who did this. Want to go visit that pesky bird?" Ren offered, arms still wrapped around Doc.

The hybrid shook his head, holding Ren tighter.

"Not really. Grian probably didn't know it would effect us this badly, so it wouldn't be best to just run in, guns blazing." Doc answered, his head resting on Ren's hair.

The dog's ears flicked slightly, feeling the hybrid's breath on them. They stood there for a while, both not wanting to pull away. Eventually the sun began to set, and they separated.

"We should get back home now. We don't wanna be caught out here in the dark." Ren coughed slightly, hiding his flushed cheeks behind his hand.

"Yeah, let's go then." The two then took to the sky, flying back to the shopping district where they started the adventure.

They stood at the other side of the nether portal, stopped to say a final goodbye before heading off to their own portals.

"Hey, Ren." Doc started, turning to face the dog who stood beside him, having to look down a bit.

"Yea, Doccy?" Ren looked up at him, his sunglasses currently off as he was cleaning one of the lenses with his shirt.

Doc felt his face heat up slightly, but continued on speaking.

"Thanks for helping me back there, it means a lot." Doc smiled softly, subconsciously pulling Ren into a small hug.

Ren had put his sunglasses back on by the time the hug came, so he had two open arms to hug back.

"You're welcome. Now, we've ought to get home." Ren placed a little kiss on Doc's cheek before pulling away and starting to walk off.

Doc stood there for a second, unsure of what to do. He regained his senses and chuckled softly as the dog was already flying off to his portal. He placed a hand on the spot Ren had kissed, a smile creeping onto his face.

Doc made it back home, face a bright red and hand still on his cheek.

"Have fun on your date?" A voice startled him out of his thoughts, the hybrid turning to find his best friend watching him from the fence that separated their split mansion.

"It wasn't a date, Bdubs. We got pranked and some stuff happened." Doc explained in the vaguest way he could, ignoring his friend's protests for more information as he walked off to bed.

"You two are cute together!" Bdubs called out as Doc made it to his bedroom, making the hybrid blush even more.

Doc plopped down into bed, rubbing his face to try and relax. He ended up falling asleep with that adorable dog running through his mind.
