Chapter 3
Sunday came and I have nothing to do. I am just sulking out of boredom here in the living room staring at the off tv.
"Caia, walang lakad?" Tanong ni Manang Amor.
"Wala po manang. I am so bored na nga eh." I pouted and put my hood on.
"Why don't you join me, Caia?" Sabi ni daddy habang pababa siya ng hagdan.
"No way! If I know, you'll just be with your businessmen friends and play golf with your boring talks."
Lagi akong niyayaya ni daddy sa mga ganyan pero todo tanggi ako. Ending, sila lang ni mommy ang pumupunta kasama ang mga kaibigan nilang businessman.
And then a realization hit me.
"On second thought, I'll be with you dad! Wait for me." Jairus will probably be there with him. Heto na ang pagkakataon kong mapalapit sa kanya. I'll consider Hanna's suggestion this time since I have nothing to do. Might as well do this.
Kunot-noo akong sinundan ng tingin ni daddy habang tumatakbo ako pataas ng hagdan. Nagtataka siguro sa biglaan kong pagbabago ng desisyon.
I wore a white halter top, black mini skirt, black sandals, and I brought a black coat. Kinuha ko ang cellphone ko sa mini table at bumaba na para sumama kina mommy at daddy.
"What are you wearing woman?" Daddy said with furrowed brows.
"Honey, let her. Bagay naman sa kanya. She looks so pretty." Pang-aalu ni mommy sa kanya. I usually wear outfits like this when going out with friends pero hindi iyon nakikita ni daddy. Ngayon niya lang ako nakitang nakaganito dahilan kung bakit medyo nanibago siya.
"Huwag ka lang yuyuko yuko doon sa country club at baka makitaan ka diyan." Sabi naman ni mommy.
"Of course! Hindi rin naman ako marunong maglaro ng golf eh."
"What changed your mind nga ba?"
"Nothing. I'm just bored here." They both threw me a suspicious look but I just shrugged and went inside the car.
The drive to Talomo District is long due to traffic but I am not annoyed right now. I am very excited to go there. Sana naman nandun talaga si Jairus. I would be very disappointed if he's not there.
We arrived at Apo Golf & Country Club after twenty minutes and I immediately went out the car, holding my phone and the black trench coat from ZARA.
Sumunod ako kina mommy at daddy at nakipagbatian sila sa mga businessman doon. Iginala ko ang aking paningin and there I saw Jairus Pimentel in his white polo shirt and brown khaki shorts. He's also wearing a white sneakers from a known brand. He can definitely look good on everything that he wears.
"Jairus!" Tawag ni daddy sa kanya.
"Good morning tito." His manly voice made me nervous again. The effect of this man to me!
"Where is Austin?"
"Nag-aaral pa po. He's graduating this year that's why he is really focusing on his studies."
"Nice. That's good." Sabi ni daddy at tinapik-tapik ang braso niya. Binati niya rin ako at si mommy pero wala talagang lumalabas na salita sa aking bibig. All I can do is smile.
Now, where's your confidence Ms. Caia!?
Nagsimula na silang maglaro ng golf habang nandito lang ako sa restaurant, mag-isa. I can't chill when I'm around him.
I called Hanna to ask her what to do. Di hamak na mas eksperto siya sa akin pagdating sa mga ganito.
"Girl, get your ass off that chair and join them there. Manood ka. Huwag kang tutunganga diyan."
