Chapter 6
"I am not a crybaby!" Asik ko nang asarin niya ako.
"Fine." Sabi niya and he chuckled. I am so stunned by his manly chuckle na gusto ko na lang siyang pugpugin ng halik.
"Stop avoiding me." He seriously said now.
"Okay." I said like an obedient student.
"I am going to your opening ceremony tomorrow at Almendras."
"Bakit?" Nilingon ko siya at nakita kong seryoso niya akong tinitingnan ngayon. Nailang naman ako sa kanyang mga titig. I am not used to this casual interaction with him.
"Our company is also the sponsor of the sportsfest itself." Tumango lamang ako.
I can only imagine the slutty cheerdancers from different schools and their lowkey moves to steal Jairus' attention.
Alam kong wala akong karapatan pero gustong-gusto ko siyang ipagdamot.
Baby, you are making me crazy.
"Sino yung kasama mong lalake?" Tanong ko para lang may mapag-usapan. I want more moments like this with him.
"My brother. Why?" He now answered me with furrowed brows, as if annoyed by something.
"I know he's your brother. But what's his name?"
"Austin. Why?" Seryoso niya akong tiningnan with his arms crossed.
"Nothing." I shrugged.
"Do you like him?" He asked with a voice that is almost a whisper.
"No. May iba akong gusto." Napatayo siya nang tuwid na parang interesadong-interesado sa kung sinong gusto ko.
"Sino?" Ikaw. But I won't shamelessly say it in front of you. I still have my pride with me you handsome man!
"Answer me." I just smiled at him widely and stood straight. He look at me as if he's so frustrated and curious by who is the man that I like.
Niyaya ko na lang siya pabalik sa hotel and I can see Hanna's wide smile as I approached our table.
"Ang malandi kong friend, saya-saya ng mukha!" Bulong niya sa akin. Nginisihan ko lang siya at uminom ng juice na nakaserve.
Maya-maya lang, umupo si Jairus pabalik sa upuan niya and stared at me intently again. Nakaka conscious talaga yung mga tingin niya but I should get used to it when I need more encounters with him. My goal to get close with him is back to life!
Nang matapos ang party, I just smiled at Jairus cutely and went inside our car. I smiled at Manuella beside me and hugged her tightly.
"Dad! I think ate has a boyfriend!" Manuella shouted.
"Why would you say so, Ella?" Mommy asked.
"Pangiti-ngiti kasi kahit wala namang nakakangiti. Parang yung mga nakikita ko sa Kdrama. Kapag nagkakaboyfriend sila, they just smile like a fool kahit wala namang nakakatuwa sa paligid." She explained with some gestures included.
"Do you have a boyfriend, Caia?" Mommy asked. Nilingon ako ni daddy na parang interesado rin siyang malaman kung may boyfriend na nga ba ako.
"Wala po." I said and smiled. The three of them looked at me suspiciously but I just widened my smile at them. We went home peacefully after the party.
Monday afternoon, I put on my university shirt, black jeans and white sneakers. Bitbit ko rin ang Type A jacket namin dahil iyon ang pinag-usapan naming mga athletes. I only brought my phone and my wallet dahil manonood lang naman kami ngayon.
