Chapter 8
Habang tumatagal, nagiging kumportable ako kasama si Jairus. I love his warmth and his company is my peace.
The past weeks has been all about school, sportsfest, and Jairus.
My school's table tennis team is currently the top on the leaderboards and coach is very proud of us.
"Caia, any plans on sem break?" Hanna asked while we are sitting in the bench under the large tree. We are already expecting requirements dahil malapit na ang sembreak.
"Wala pa nga eh. Baka pupunta ulit ng Spain. Ikaw?" My father is from Spain kaya madalas kaming pumupunta doon to visit our abuela and abuelo.
"Hindi ko rin alam. Wala pang binabanggit sina mommy. Kung wala silang plano, I'll have a vacation with Rome for the whole break." She looked at me proudly.
Ang dami pang parating na projects and we'll have to work hard to reach semis." I groaned. Sumandal ako sa bench at humalukipkip.
"Do you think I'll reach semis?" The pessimist Hanna is on.
"Of course. Kaya mo nga last year. Kaya mo rin ngayon. You've worked hard for this." I cheered her up.
"Right." Good that you're not pushing through your negative thoughts.
Silence filled us as we appreciate the calmness under the shade of the big tree. Napaka refreshing ng hangin dito. Suddenly, I heard my phone beeped.
Jairus:
What are you doing?
Me:
Tambay lang. It's our free time. Tas training mamayang 6.
Jairus:
I want to see you.
I bit my lip to suppress a smile. Hanna is looking suspiciously at me already.
Me:
Where?
Jairus:
Wait for me outside.
"Huwag mo nang pigilan. Para kang natatae." Hanna laughed at me. She even said that I look like a tomato.
"Hanna. See you later."
"Ay, may date?" Nang-aasar na tingin ang ibinigay niya sa akin.
"No, it's not."
"Sus." She just rolled her eyes and bid her goodbye dahil pupunta na lang daw siya sa cafeteria to wait for Rome.
I texted Jairus that I'll be waiting at Gate 3 because it's the nearest gate from where we are sitting.
The road outside the Gate 3 is not yet so crowded.
Jairus went out with his usual office clothes minus the coat. He can really pull off this look. He always look like a model.
I can do it myself.
"Where to?" I asked.
