It is going into some kind of direction. Something is working.
It's not going the way I want it to. It feels like I'm straying to the right when I'm told to go left.
It feels like they tell me to run but all I can do is stroll.
It feels like everyone is running forward, while I'm the only one watching.
Where's this race headed that I'm on? Why are the others going into a different direction? Why am I losing sight of them? Why am I only sauntering when I should be sprinting with them?
As I lose track of the number of times I look forward but only see the mist that represents my future right now, I tell myself it will be fine. Everyone is like that. A cook might suddenly lose their sense of smell and taste and an athlete can incidentally suffer an injury. The future is unknown to everyone. Nobody can be assured to turn out a certain way. The future is what's to come. To be swayed right now is not the problem. A track doesn't only go one way, even if it seems like that at first. And even if everyone follows the even track, it doesn't mean you can't reach your goal by scrambling and climbing the hills.
Maybe they're going to be faster, maybe they're on a more direct path. But this is YOUR path. This is what you do right now. Look forward and run.
Since a racer is meant to follow his track only.
And there's nothing wrong with that.
Just keep your pace, going forward. It's your race, after all.
