PLB Here! Ima bit busy with school so Trips is giving you all a filler Chapter!! GIVE HER LOTS OF LOVE PEOPLE CUZ WITHOUT HER THIS STORY WOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE GARBAGE CAN WITH MY OTHER BAD IDEAS AND IDEAS I DON"T WANN FINISH XD But enjoy the chapter. Trips worked rlly hard on it :)
Aiden led the group, ignoring any questions or anything. He was completely driven on finding Aru. Who knew he would be like this? Brynne did. Aiden acted like this when his dad divorced his mom. He didn't talk for weeks, and was bent on finding out why his dad left his mom.
Aiden was always thinking about the people he loved, never about himself. It's what made him a good person, but it was also his weakness. His fatal flaw wasn't hubris or loyalty. It was caring. Aiden was too caring, and it made him reckless.
Anyway, Brynne was lost in her thoughts and didn't notice that night had already fallen. She bumped into Aiden, who was standing in front of her. Aiden scowled(which was SO unlike him).
"Don't worry about it Brynne," he said, before she even apollo-gised(Did you guys get the pun? -Trips), "We're going to set up camp here. So everyone, set up your sleeping bags, and Rudy, go get us wood for a fire."
"Why do I-" Rudy gulped and didn't say anything when he saw Aiden glaring at him. Man...Aiden's glares could rival Percy Jackson's...and that was definitely saying something.
He scurried away, trying to find firewood. Nikita and Sheela sat down and played Slide while the others were setting up camp, because Nikita refused to get her new shoes dirty. Brynne told them that they were in the heart of the Otherworld Woods, so they had walked a long way, and needed to rest, if they were ever going to find Aru.
Brynne didn't need to tell Aiden twice, since he was already fast asleep, a grimace settled on top of his face. The others went to sleep a while later before waking up to Aiden's blood-curdling scream.
~Aiden's P.O.V.(bet you weren't expecting any P.O.V.'s -Trips)~
Let's rewind a little. Basically, we were walking through the forest in hopes of finding Aru somewhere, but just my luck, this forest was HUGE! I decided to stop in a small clearing. At least, it was big enough for the Potatoes and Rudy. Is he a Potato now? I mean he's been with us for a while but- FOCUS AIDEN!
Anyway, I stopped in the middle of my tracks to inspect the clearing, when Brynne bumped into me. I scowled trying to control my temper. This 'Aru disappearing' thing really had me on edge, and being bumped into did not make my life any better.
I told Rudy to get some firewood, and made sure that he didn't protest. I didn't want a migraine. I was going to ask Niki and Sheela to help us set up camp, but before I could ask them anything, Niki held her hand up in defiance.
"No way. I am not going to get my shoes dirty, and Sheela is- well- Sheela. No way am I going to let her get all muddy," Nikita said to me, checking her perfectly manicured nails.
I tried to tell her that we needed all the help we could get, but she shot me a glare that said, "You ask me to help one more time, I will make sure you have thorns up your butt next time you put on pants."
I shuddered at the thought and allowed her and Sheela to sit on some logs, while Brynne, Mini, and I set up camp. Mini was telling Brynne about all the dangers of camping in the forest, while trying not to let my mind wander off to the negatives of this mission. Rudy startled me when he set down the firewood he had collected. Brynne started a fire and tried to tell us where we were.
I tuned her out as I went into my tent and zipped up the entrance. I didn't know how tired I was until my head hit the pillow of my sleeping bag. I was out cold, and hoped that I wouldn't have any nightmares. However, being the gods' pawn doesn't help nightmares, and as I expected, I did get one.
~Dream Start~
I was falling.
Falling deep and falling hard.
I closed my eyes before my back hit the ground.
My heart shattered into a thousand crystal shards.
The tears flowed.
They flowed out my empty eyes.
As I smiled for the last time.
Distancing myself from my loved one's cries.
The end never came
When I fell into that endless void of pain.
"Pain is a cycle," they used to say.
But my pain is there...always.
I felt myself touch the ground.
I embraced it with an open mind.
For I knew.
I knew I would not have survived.
Even if I tried.
~Dream End~
I woke up screaming, the pain I felt when I hit the ground feeling so REAL. I pulled my knees up to my chest and buried my face between them, as my body was racked with sobs. I wasn't strong enough to save Aru...and it would only be a matter of time before I couldn't even save myself...
