Ch.24

Using Karen the jewel, the Potatoes went through a portal, leaving Sage Vyasa's ashram. This landed them in Death Valley. Aiden was the first one to point that out, because he saw a giant sign that said, "Death Valley National Park".

Rudy was completely in awe, "Wow look at all the sand! And the...sand! OH! THERE'S MORE SAND OVER THERE! THIS PLACE IS AMAZHANG!"

Brynne rolled her eyes and once again, you guessed it, hit Rudy in the head with her mace, knocking him out and making him fall over into Aiden's hands. Unfortunately, Aiden (with a smirk), sidestepped the trust fall, letting "Prince Rudra of the Naga Loka" fall onto some very, VERY hot sand. That woke the poor half-snake from his unconsciousness and turned him very red, not due to embarrassment, but because of the heat. He held his backside in his hands as he started leaping up. Rudy screamed about his "burning butt" as he jumped around trying to relieve himself of the pain.

Mini snickered at Rudy, "Do you guys have any ideas as to why Karen brought us here," she asked, trying to hold back tears of mirth.

"It was probably to torture me,"Rudy muttered, scowling at the jewel and pouting the laughing of figures of the rest of the Potato People, "WHAT'S SO FUNNY?!"

This only caused everyone to laugh harder at the boy. He earned a few consoling pats on the shoulder from Sheela, but not even she could stop herself from laughing. Rudy waited for everyone to calm down before saying, "Honestly though, you guys. Maybe, the Tunnel of Sunrise is in the desert."

Mini's eyes widened in disbelief, "That desert," she pointed to the enormous span of sand, "is 3,000 square miles of burning, hot sand dunes. There are so many ways to die there. There's no way we'll get to the tunnel by nightfall, without getting bitten by a rattlesnake or getting our eyes pecked out by vultures."

Everyone paled at the thought but shook it off. Aiden sent her a solemn look, "It's the only way to get to Surya, to Dwaraka, and to Aru. We can't stop now. It's still," he looked at his watch, "3:00 P.M. We can make it if Karen helps us. She can turn into a compass and show where the Tunnel is."

Karen buzzed to life, "What do you think I am? Google maps? Honey, I can get you anywhere and everywhere in a matter of hours or seconds, depending on the distance of course. I'll help, but I need some time to recharge. Give me a few," with that, she stopped talking. Aiden didn't know how long to give her, because she never specified whether or not she needed a few years, minutes, hours.

Aiden groaned. Suddenly, his eyes sparked as he asked Karen, " Do you have any abilities to help you recharge faster?"

Karen's voice came out in choppy sentences, " ... Course I can! ... Need... Permission... Boo. " As if Karen were a robot, she immediately stopped glowing.

" I know this may be a bit to ask but can you connect to Boo again? Like you did before? " Aiden asked apologetically.

" Fine... You...50 bucks!" Karen tried to say, as Boo's image appeared again.

The others looked at him incredulously, as Boo's face appeared in front of them.

" WE COULD TALK TO BOO THIS WHOLE TIME??!?!" Nikita screamed, pulling her hair in frustration.

Boo acknowledged their presence at that moment. His eyes lit up in surprise, " Um... this is rather awkward," hearing those words from a ten year old was even more awkward, "I was just about to go to the bathroom."

Aiden shook that off because he really didn't need to remember that.

" TMI BOO! " The rest shouted, some shaking their heads in disgust (cough - Nikita - cough).
