Dream/Flashback:

Keira stood in the hallway, biting her thumbnail, as she entered the classroom for the first time that day. She was a new kid. Her hair was a disheveled mess, as she was just slammed into the lockers with toothpaste crusted on the ends of her hair, by the 'jocks' and the 'popular girls'. Yep. Fourth grade was going to be a nightmare.

Sure she was used to it, but it didn't make her feel any better. She was never bitter about it and accepted it because she believed that she did something to deserve it. Karma finds its way to everyone right?

Spit balls and paper planes hit her in the head, and she scooted her way to the back of the room next to a girl she had never seen before. A petite girl, doodling in her notebook looked up, and scrunched her face up.

Does she already think I am a loser? Keira thought to herself.

The girl stood up, and climbed on top of her desk. The other children in class were immensely scared and stopped because they didn't want to anger the older daughter of the Shah family who used to give them free museum tours once every school year.

"STOP! Can't you see that you are hurting her? Stop throwing things at her! Just stop being cruel to her! Why do you even pick on her?" She screamed, anger dancing through her irises like a blazing fire.

A boy bravely spoke up, in an attempt to make her kiss up to him, " Well isn't it obvious Miss Shah? We, pick on her, cuz she is weird and not like us! You wanna join us?"

The girl sighed, "Is she considered weird because she's new? Weren't we all new kids at some point? Doesn't that make us weird? Just because she's new doesn't mean she deserves this. Now, you better stop before I either tell the teacher or I beat you up myself."

She sat back down, and helped Keira to the seat next to her. Keira stared at her, wide eyed. The other girl's eyes twinkled mischievously, "They won't bother you if you stick with me. What is your name?"

The girl stuck out her hand for a handshake. Keira replied, "M-My name is Keira."

"Well, Keira. Nice to meet you! I'm Shah. Kara Shah," the girl shook Keira's hand.

Dream/Flashback End

Keira woke up, sweaty and panting. An old memory she had buried deep inside her resurfaced. She was becoming weak.
